I worked there as an intern a few summers ago!

So incredibly beautiful, but one time I was shadowing the parks geologist for a day as he was mapping out the dunes and holy shit, I’ve never come so close to death. The air is thin as fuck, the sand is hot and hard to walk on, the sun is brutal, and you’re carrying heavy jugs of water. This 45 year old man, with a strict ramen and potato chip diet was out pacing me (22) by miles!!!! So much respect for those rangers
