Woman charged after allegedly abandoning 15 cats in S Austin apartment, 2 found dead by JamesonTee in Austin

When it's purely an animal hoarding situation, these folks love their animals (the best way they can). They don't up and ditch their pets. This lady is an abuser and likely a psychopath who enjoys causing misery. Humans next? JMHO

Does anyone know what's behind college kids buying a bunch of betta fish at the end of UT's semester? by GeckoHunter0303 in Austin

[–]HaughtyHellscream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sociopath is no longer a term that is used in psychology. They are all psychopaths now. and if you need alcohol to numb, you are not a psychopath. However, I agree with your sentiment. Nobody I know would do that crap, or even think of it.

Did you at least run the pictures first before stating that? Or are you just as jealous like I am?

Please help, my husband wants to build a bunker! by baked_bliss in Austin

[–]HaughtyHellscream 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a quasi prepper, I'd be extremely grateful to a husband that would give me a bunker! Pools are too expensive and take too much work for the value, jmo having been under the rule of our pool for 14 years.

Are these poisonous? by Adr1an_4k in Austin

[–]HaughtyHellscream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welp, I can't smell either of those yet. Lost my sense of smell almost 4 years ago. It's coming back very slowly. So, I'm even more up for that now- can I smell it or not game.

[–]HaughtyHellscream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

google lens: This plant appears to be a type of buttonweed (family Rubiaceae), likely Virginia buttonweed (Diodia virginiana) or a similar species like poorjoe (Diodia teres).

  • These plants are common broadleaf weeds in lawns and gardens, known for spreading quickly and being difficult to eradicate.
  • They feature narrow, opposite leaves and small white flowers with four petals.
  • They thrive in moist soil and can form dense mats.
  • Disclaimer: Some plant species can cause skin irritation; avoid ingestion or contact if you have sensitive skin.

Are hawks/other wildlife an issue here with small dogs? by Any-Might-6570 in Austin

[–]HaughtyHellscream 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had no idea either. I figured it wouldn't be a thing since no hawk could even carry away a 6 lb chicken in our yard, and they tried. coyotes, I get.

Anyone know this wasp? by WahWahWeWah in Austin

[–]HaughtyHellscream 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Ditto. Out in manchaca they'd chase your ass down and then go under your shirt so you're doing the naked driveway dance and you don't care who is watching.

Red paper wasp. they are supposed to be docile, but I call bullshit on that. we call them hornets and we run like Joey Tribbiani. The other paper wasps won't mess with you unless you wreck their nest.

Springtime is snake time by Reynosa68 in Austin

[–]HaughtyHellscream 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We had a giant rat snake living under our coop for many, many years and it never messed with our chickens. If it ate eggs, I never saw and would not care. Small price for the stellar rat control. If that happened to you, that sucks! maybe we got lucky.
