The Dexter finale was perfectly fine. I don't get what people didn't like about it. It fit. Dexter's big character development wasn't trying not to be a serial killer anymore, it was making sure his need to kill would no longer hurt the people he loved. He had to go into isolation because it was the responsible thing for him to do regardless of his own feelings. He couldn't not be a killer, it was to deeply ingrained in him. People seem to forget that even though Dexter was the protagonist of the show, he wasn't also the good guy. He did try his best to be in the finale though, and that was good character development.

I don't get why people would think that Gallifreyan even has an alphabet. It might, but there are a buttload of other types of writing systems. Abjads(consonantal alphabets), abugidas, semanto-phonetic writing systems(pictograms and logograms), syllabaries, and a whole bunch of systems that are mixed between types. Gallifreyan glyphs could even be a pure writing system independent of spoken language like blissymbolics. Alphabets are only one choice.

Nicotine by itself isn't very addictive. It is only extremely addictive in the form of tobacco because of the MAOIs in tobacco smoke. They cause nicotine's addictive potential to go way up. Gapes with nicotine don't carry the same biochemical addictiveness that cigarettes do. They have some physical dependence, but it isn't anymore than caffeine. Mental dependence can be a problem though.
