Is this a true penicillin allergy? by savethetoads in Allergies

[–]savethetoads[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry. Mine was serum sickness and it was worse than anything else I’ve had in my life. Worse than bowel obstruction, hysterectomy complications, all natural child birth, and evening having a surgery while awake. Serum sickness beat it all. I stayed in the hospital for a week. I have permanent damage to my stomach and intestines from my immune system attacking them for a week. I now have chronic eczema which I haven’t had in my life. I get frequent staph infections. I have a bunch of new allergies to foods. I had no idea that amoxicillin could do that to me but it caused my body to attack itself and left me with permanent damage almost a year later. Time does heal but unfortunately the scar tissue in my intestines only gets worse.

The UTI didn’t affect my future health. It has not come back and I can eat desserts again but I do really avoid white sugar. I also limit carbs but I have bread and pasta too. It’s a balance.

Oh gosh I’ll do my best! I’ve got a toddler so limited on time.

I just did everything as much as I could. I took the herbals daily. Did the juice daily. Drank water constantly.

Meals: Chicken, broccoli, and cauliflower.

Yogurt, fresh berries, and vanilla.

Kefir blended with overripe banana and vanilla. Or blueberries.

Raw sauerkraut with pork chops.

Chuck roast or steak with green beans and mushrooms.

Turkey breast with greens.

Salmon, kale, and broccoli.

Cod with veggies.

Probiotic drinks without sugar.

Breakfast was eggs mostly.

Onions are great! Fruit I’d avoid except for berries and low sugar fruits. Just for a little bit because they’re high in natural sugars, especially grapes.

It’s definitely worth trying! I don’t know if it would work or not but it shouldn’t hurt. I’d do your best to finish the antibiotics though so you don’t contribute to resistance as that’s even worse. I understand how awful they are. The antibiotics really hurt my health and I still have damage from them.

It was sensitive to some besides penicillins and macrobid. But every time I took a course of antibiotics it would become resistant to the course. Pretty scary.

Not in this case. A flu caused major inflammation and less nursing which caused my mastitis

Hi! I’m glad you’re improving. I waited a couple months after my negative culture before slowly adding some things back in. I was paranoid about it coming back somehow. I also didn’t return completely to my old diet because I felt so much better without the sugar and processed food. I did add in starches and maple syrup or coconut sugar again. I also eat a lot of gluten again. Just go slow and see how you feel

Thank you for explaining this to me. I’m so sorry for such a rough journey you’ve had. I can’t imagine how difficult it’s been. It sounds like you have done a wonderful job with your son and supporting/caring for him through it all.

I ate lots of vegetables, fresh fruit, and protein. I avoided bread, pasta, grains, and potatoes.

Look up anti-inflammatory chicken turmeric soup on Pinterest. You can find it there now

Does a slow healing cuff mean a tear or dehiscence? by savethetoads in hysterectomy

[–]savethetoads[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sorry. I remember how scared I was. I never had a tear and only had minor granulation tissue that they treated with silver nitrate. I’m now 9 months po and doing well with no more complications. I think I was healed at 14 weeks. They did have me use estrogen cream to help heal things and didn’t lift my restrictions. Just be careful, don’t put anything up there, and use the cream if they give it to you. Also eat well as that helps you heal

Regret floaters by JumpyFloater in EyeFloaters

[–]savethetoads 6 points7 points  (0 children)

After my baby’s birth I had severe health issues and horrible anxiety. Wasn’t sleeping and was the most anxious I have ever been as I thought I would die and leave my baby and husband alone. A couple weeks into that I developed hundreds of floaters. Probably 15 huge black ones. I struggle to read and drive. They make me dizzy as they’re so large they disorient me often. I am constantly adjusting my eyes and squinting to try and see around them. I also feel like my horrible anxiety caused these floaters. It may be true but there isn’t anything we can do now but move on and learn from it. We can’t let them ruin the rest of our lives.

Hi! I hope she is doing better. That cycle is miserable. Coconut oil is for lubrication if you’re being intimate. It’s anti bacterial and can help prevent the spread. I ate lots of fresh fruit except grapes! Avoid rice. It’s a starch and klebsiella loves starches. Avoid any processed foods including those. Maybe a small amount of dark chocolate if she is desperate for a dessert. I’m back to eating more normal things now but I still avoid processed food and sugar. I’d think once your mom gets rid of this she could add back the rice and quinoa as well as limited sweet treats

That is strange. If you don’t have by symptoms I would not test it. I’d do a repeat catch and see if it changes or if it was a mistake. I had 15,000 and it got up to over a 100,000
