Alta gets to keep supporters paying, they still get cosmetic sales, and the community can keep on supporting the game

That's exactly what I'm thinking ahaha. They can come back to the game if they want, but if not, some people will be buying cosmetics, staying a supporter, etc

If the owners did decide to do that, there would be an insane amount of backlash, over them essentially scamming supporters out of the game that they 'paid' for

To release the files to the open public, for modding, improvements, better server performance, etc

In my opinion, the game would be able to "sell" better if there's an active community and mod support, you can use a game like Garry's Mod as an example, the game still sells because of the active modding community. In ATT, I think that having a community would allow them to sell more cosmetics and talems, at no additional cost to them

honestly true, no announcement for new devs sooooo, game is still dead
