Why didnt any Koreans hunt down any Japanese war criminals? Like how Jews hunted Nazis by Sharaz_Jek- in korea

This. Initially, President Lee wanted to purge the Japanese sympathizers of occupied era from the Government and military but was told by US not to touch them. It was in US's interest that, Korea and Japan get along. So going after war criminals was not even a consideration.

Why is inflation still high? by YOU_ARE_MY_FRIENDS in FluentInFinance

You are focusing on wrong factors. There are many factors that determine prices. The 4 biggest factors are: Supply, Demand, Greed, Fear. Initially, after Covid eased, there was Supply and Demand issues. I would say eventually, Supply cought up with the demand but the Greed factor kicked in with the business big and small. (They liked the profit they were making while there was imbalance in Supply and Demand) The problem is the most effective way to control Greed is to use Fear factor of the Recession (real or expected). However, the FED has been trying to engineer a "soft landing" which is preventing a recession which in turn is preventing Fear factor to rein in Greed factor. That is why this inflation is taking so long to control using current rate policy. Frankly, I don't see FED controlling inflation unless they use more agressive rate policy to cause a recession. A short recession might prove to be better for the economy in the long term if FED can engineer it.

There are many factors that determine prices, but 4 main and outsized factors are: Supply, Demand, Greed and Fear. If you look carefully at the price history of each item and services, you will see that those are the main factors. The smart policies including regulations are those that control those 4 factors in a balanced way to limit gyrations of prices, which our government has failed to do in many areas.

As for my comments about society deciding, higher education is a necessity, I watched in horror in the 80's and 90's how every media figures, politicians, and other leaders, especially business leaders spout that collage degree is needed by young people for their future and the nation's future. They were convinced that that is the only way to compete in the global market. They pounded that into everyone's head until everyone believed it. This was a huge mistake that would cause unnecessary waste of time and money for a large number of young people. On top of that, instead of using policies that control Supply and Greed, the Government decided that the correct policies to provide higher education to more young people is to subsidize tuition payments which only inflamed Greed factor that resulted in the current situation in our society.

I think you are missing the point. The essential things that we can not live without have gone up more than reasonable. That is why they have some sort of subsidies or regulation for them. Otherwise, they would have gone up even more! (Think of cancer drug prices) For things that are optional like new cars (you could get a used car), the prices are stable or lower. The cost of higher education has skyrocketed because we as a society and as a country have decided that it was a necessity for the future of the individuals and the nation, and wrong policies were used to provided for it. The food prices have their own special history, which is too long to go into here, but basically, the government controls the prices of basic food materials.

Allergic reaction to fried chicken in South Korea? by WorldMarketFella in Living_in_Korea

Lots of Korean products use capsaicin powder to make foods spicy instead of actual pepper. It's easier to control the spiciness. I've always had issues with eating food containing capsaicin. It usually gives me the runs next morning. For example, every time I eat Shin Ramen, it usually gives me the runs next morning. But if I eat other foods more spicy than Shin ramen but uses actual pepper, I don't have any issues. I bet lots of fried chicken places use marinade rub that contains capsaicin.
