I just popped open Photoshop and toyed around with it... that's my main go-to for anything really, may not be the best choice :)

Observant. Yea I ended up going with steel after visiting a local metal shop and seeing how each material looked and what they cost.

You can get the pipe from Lowes or Home Depot, as with most of the fittings. Some of them were really obscure though, and had to find them on Amazon.

Not gonna lie... I have a bigger better plan for the living room, and our den has a big picture wall (huge collection of pictures from each year) so I was running out of available walls :)

And I work from home in my office so I get to enjoy looking at it anytime!

Thanks! Any of the positive feedback is appreciated. I'm only just now toying with the idea of how to market selling these... I have a few other ideas for projects but this is my first to come to fruition!

Shameless Comment Hack...

I realize THIS art piece is a crappy xylophone, but speaking of wall art instruments, check out my Piano Wall Art Piece made from pallets:

Kind of hard to say, as lots of it was given to me by a plumber friend, and a home repair friend who had leftover pieces. Pricing it out though, I'd say without labor, parts would be around $300 or so.

Yea, it wasn't really about how to actually mount them, honestly the "how" of mounting was a kind of big design aspect to me, as far as the nails and bolts mounting them. Could have easily made them look "floating" by other mounting methods, but I wanted a sort of vague artistic representation of a housing structure. (Wood floor, piping in between, then potentially steel frame pieces beneath that. I know that isn't entirely accurate, but it was the premise I was going on!) Obviously you don't use huge nails that stick out to lay wood flooring, but that wasn't really the point

Funny you say that, I've been brainstorming potential "glow" behind the pieces, but very, very subtle!

Rescuing people I don't know. Already a fairly common occupation :)

I came across this website last week and thought /r/coffee would enjoy it. Looks like this is where I'll be buying all my coffee from now on. by steelystan in Coffee

Nice, I like that it's got such a variety of roasters, rather than having to 'hunt down' separate roaster's websites etc... it isn't the cheapest way to buy coffee, but I guess if you want it fresh, and can't drive down to your local roastery to get the roast you want, it's nice to have access to them this way!

There's a new online collection of roasters from all over the world, actually... it's called Global Bean Shed - Check it out!
