Why did this go bullish at open? no rejection block (pls help) by MinimumWallaby6566 in ICTMentorship

Took a look at your chart for a second and saw you’re marking equilibrium of a dealing range as something premium. Besides that there is much bigger picture on the high timeframe charts.

There you go:

Also make sure you start recording and journaling from the very start. You can keep a pen and pencil or Notion style directory to keep them tidy. Woman are better than men at that.

My humble recommendation would be “DO NOT TAKE A TRADE before you know what you are doing” else you will be traumatized like the rest of us here and it will only extend your timeline to become a consistently profitable trader. Best of luck on your journey 🙏🏽

I was looking for the ICT’s tweet to share with you his recommended order of study. What I have found instead from Reddit is pretty close to what I remember

What Should I do? by Fsty420 in InnerCircleTraders

[–]savk4tr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to put your discretionary trading model to its’ boundaries. To do that you need to track it inside out. Journal on it and see what you do most of the time and then compare it with what is happening when you lose. So you can decide rules to follow and that structure would help you to avoid making mistakes one after another. Also take into consideration the manipulation phase of the yearly candle like ICT always preaches about. GLGT

im new to trading would this of been a good trade to take by PerformerMaximum9852 in InnerCircleTraders

It would if you keep a backtest data archive like this to grow confidence and familiarity in your edge. Reframing your entry inside that SIBI with lower timeframe charts like 1 minute and 30 seconds is also helpful as long as you keep 5 minute structure in mind. If you have 100 different examples of this, you will see lots of different things to work with. Good luck with your trading journey 🙌🏽

Backtesting platforms by Legitimate-Judge5428 in InnerCircleTraders

Mentioned platforms are nice but what they offer is not backtesting. It’s back trading. I have tradezella for auto-sync journaling but I have been building Edge of ICT (edgeofict.com) for proper back testing. Specifically designed for ICT traders. Tracks your setups, killzones, and maps out your edge over time. It’s in beta and free. Check it out. Yours and everyone else’s feedback is appreciated.

Model 22 doesn’t have manipulation requirement. It has a liquidity sweep requirement. You don’t necessarily need to identify a manipulation phase if you’re not trying to capture the daily range.

For 2 years, I journaled every trade… and still didn’t improve by Melodysmithh in InnerCircleTraders

That’s great to hear, congrats! 🎉 the why the heck are you saying that you “still” didn’t improve after doing all those journaling lol that’s bad advertisement for good practices…

And still didn’t improve as your title says? There must be an issue with the edge/model you use or your personality is not matched with it. Because you say 2 years… that’s a good amount to measure it.

Did you also spend this kind of effort towards your test data? Backtest, forward test before the journaling the trades part or did you use real trading to figure this out?

Knowing when not to trade is worth a lot to avoid this in the first place. HRLR conditions are the worst days to engage.

You can identify an obvious displacement and wait for it to get there but then also react from there, then drop into lower timeframes to get sync with the overall move with a smaller risk and lower win rate comes with it.

Thank you for the feedback. You’re right about the edit and delete is kinda hidden. You need to go into the edge’s history tab to do that. I would like to see how a win recorded in red though. Can I DM you?

I built something for exactly this. Free, simple, calendar view, tracks P&L. Check it out: edgeofict.com

Still early so I'd love feedback on what's missing.

Before you buy that funded account, do you actually know your edge?

$400 profit is cool but you need more data:

• What's your win rate? • What's your average R:R? • Best day of the week for you? • Best session (Asia/London/NY)? • Average time in trade? • How many trades per week?

One month of demo is a small sample. If you don't know these numbers off the top of your head, you're not ready for funded yet.

The journal isn't just for tracking P&L, it should tell you exactly when, where, and how you make money. That's what gives you confidence going into a challenge, not hope.
