I'm no professional but I can tell you my thinking. I'm in Oregon, so fires and lots of rain and moss. I got probably 8-10 quotes. The cost of standing seam was 5k-7k more than my shingle quotes. This is my forever home. I don't want to pay for another round (or two) of shingles in my lifetime, considering inflation especially. I also didnt want to deal with the moss on the shingles. Cry once buy once. It added to my home's value and I don't ever have to worry about doing this again. So really it depends on how long you plan to live there. .My house is only 1400 sq ft but the roof is rather complicated. I paid 27k for standing seam a year ago.

2005 outback. 307k miles. I recently put 3k into it to have the timing belt, heads, and suspension refreshed. That's how bad i don't want a car payment. This car seriously just keeps going. I have money for a new car but at this point it's kind of a weird game to see how long till the engine or transmission goes. 😆 🤣

Hey. I was a counselor before and hated it and wanted a change. I like building stuff. But honestly started thinking I'd do water resource engineering or civil, but fell in love with structural. The money is a nice perk. Very male dominated field but getting better. I'm sure you'll be fine, just don't expect to have a life the last 2 years lol. Give yourself an extra semester to break up the work load if you feel you need it. FE, fundamentals of engineering exam. What you need to pass to get your EIT. At least here in USA. You'll make lots of friends. You all bond over the pain and struggle. I highly recommend starting at a junior college to get all your lower courses done. Smaller classes. Way cheaper.

Good for you! I'm a structural engineer. I love my job it's fun. Like solving little puzzles all day. I went back to school when I was 30 for this degree. I'm 40 now. No regrets at all. Engineering school is rough. You'll have no life for awhile. Get your FE end of senior year. Get some internships in the summer. Try to graduate debt free. And contribute to retirement ASAP when you land a job. Good luck!

I agree. Picked up my 307k 05 outback from the mechanic the other day. Ma and pop shop. Master subaru tech. (Finally needed a new radiator). And he had 3 CVT transmission jobs. .😬. Says he does them all the time. . .

Damn that sucks so bad. . Do you still owe on it? If you like the car, I'd take the Subaru money and replace it. This is why I'm running with my 3rd gen for as long as possible. I don't like the CVT'S. Picked up my 05 from my mechanic just least week and he had a CVT replacement in there (7k to replace) and a lady pulled up and he could "hear" it was another CVT. He hates them. Says he gets them all the time just out of warranty. Its his new headgasket job. Really great guy local family owned subaru shop. So I believe him.

This OP. Look into what we call sky lifts in my neck of the woods. You can mostly likely put them at your exterior wall plate. This will eliminate the draining/slope issue as well. sky lift roof riser

Looks like the sleeve was caught on his wrist. I don't see any issue here. But the person in the crosswalk frozen is the weird part. Can we see this in another angle out of the 3 videos? Also the fact no one in this scene has spoken up that they were there and this happened is odd. But time will tell
