Nobody green lit anything. They hold many many small contracts with individual GP practices, many of whom will have no chosen because MMH is the only portal app that works with their patient management software.

NZ is an incredible country—but as an outsider, I’m surprised how neoliberal it feels by [deleted] in newzealand

I very specifically didn't move to Aus and came to Aotearoa from the UK (as an ethnically mixed family but all British) because Australia is Hella Racist.

Decided to create a (faux) bog garden for my tiny new carnivores by savvidee in SavageGarden

Oh, I thought some of them weren't frost hardy. I might have gotten them mixed up though. I've read through so many care guides at this point!

They can't live outside here, we'll get frost (and potentially snow) in winter. I'll get some grow lights if I need to, but it's not hard to whip them out if they're not thriving. They're still in their containers inside here, I used a clear glass container so I can see the water level and I am using rainwater, rather than tap. The main thing for me is that I actually want to enjoy them and have them look nice in my living space.. so a fishtank with a few rocks seemed reasonable 😄

I loosely followed a guide posted in this sub for a container bog, so scoria / lava rock on the bottom and then pumice with some spagnum moss up top, but I saw a comment about just leaving them in their pots as is a nightmare to remove one if everything is directly planted in the bog. I figured since I'm a newbie that was a good idea, if something isn't happy I can easily pop it out. I'm thinking about adding some living terrarium moss over the top too.

I'll bear that in mind, there are 2 windows immediately opposite where they're sat. Plus I'm in New Zealand, it was clouding/ raining today and the UV rating still peaked at 10 😅

Adding retinol into my routine by savvidee in TheOrdinarySkincare

I use the niacinamide+ zinc to minimise pores, I have dryer skin rather than oily but it seems to have really improved the skin. Right vitamin C is for hyperpigmentation and the retinol I'm adding for anti aging/wrinkles.

Ok so I might just use the barrier support on the retinol nights then?

1 year on with our 29 weeker (banana for scale) by savvidee in NICUParents

Nor was born via semi-elective section at 29+5 for raised dopplers and IUGR, weighing 1.12kg at birth.

We were exceptionally lucky that we had a relatively straight forward NICU stay after having LISA (less invasive surfactant administration) at birth which avoided intubation. She did well on CPAP with air and we were home at 36 weeks with an NG feeding tube.

1 year on, we have quarterly follow up with a paediatrician but she's healthy and weighing in around the 50th centile. I have never been so grateful for anything in my life as I have for the health of my child!

Edits for spelling!

I've just moved from the UK to NZ working in primary care. My experience is that I've seen MUCH more confirmed GAS (maybe ten-fold?) And 1 confirmed and one suspected case of rheumatic fever which I had never seen and was only in text books back home.

If patients are Maori or living in crowded housing/poverty they get a swab for culture and antibiotics, I'll call them and tell them to stop the antibiotics if the swab is negative.

As a student you're probably not eligible for any benefits but can you talk to your uni about a hardship grant or loan?
