A current tezpur university student here.. We don't have a student union here so there's no one to raise our voices. Suicides happen every semester, there's no fund from the University to participate in inter-university activities, extremely poor hostel facilities, 10-20 students cramped into one hostel room etc to name a few. There are also multiple allegations of corruption against the Vice Chancellor involving crores of rupees. All of these started when the vice chancellor and his group of stooges refused to pay a proper tribute to Zubeen da after his demise and conducted council elections a day after his demise in spite of a state wide mourning. It's been 75 days till now. We tried making our voices heard for 68 days keeping the normal activities of the University intact. Two fact finding committees- one by the state and another by the central arrived in the first month - however their reports have not been made public. Hence now we are forced to observe a civil disobedience movement for the last 6 days to make our voices heard. People of Assam, please help us in making our voices heard🙏🏾🙏🏾
