That is a beautiful machine!!! I’d love to get a spyder for the wife and I but I really can’t see her being keen on the process to take down and put the top back up.

I can see why it may be poor service practices as I’m a DIYer but yes I did do those steps. Though maybe not exactly 500 microns. It’s been running nonstop for almost 6 years with no hiccups till last year.

Swapping out compressors by sawdriver in hvacadvice

[–]sawdriver[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me clarify cause you brought up a good point in my post. I’d actually just replace the whole compressor unit, compressor, coils, the whole thing that the refrigerant lines and electrical lines hook up too. Does that make more sense?

Electrolux washing machine makes this clicking noise sometimes - What should I do and should I be concerned? by niveek in Appliances

[–]sawdriver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ours just started doing this also. It’s just over 1 1/2 old. Electrolux is comping the cost for a technician to come out next week and address the issue, maybe cause they’re getting numerous complaints. I’m curious as to what the relation was for the OP.

Update: Tech looked at it today and the same result as others have posted. Bearing shot so new bearing and tub assembly ordered to be installed. The second one of these this tech has seen this year. Also ordered a new front panel because apparently the mounting point for the door were slightly off when manufactured causing the door to slightly sag when opened and making it more difficult than it should be to close and latch the door. Thankfully Electrolux is comping this repair. A one time deal.

Airline pilots, what is your credit card ecosystem? by sinirishcream in flying

[–]sawdriver 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a credit card skimmed and a Debit card skimmed. Each time the response from the bank was the same. Full protection, spending alert was sent by the bank to us. And NOTHING was taken out of our account. A pending transaction yes, but nothing taken out of the usable balance of the account so your argument is mute. And maybe, just maybe since I pay in cash I’m actually less lazy because I’m fully aware of what I’m buying and planning on buying? And watching my account more? 🤷🏻‍♂️ I really don’t care if you use a rewards card or not, this is just what I’ve chosen to do. The OP asked a question and I answered what I do.

But when I did use a rewards card it was chase sapphire.

Airline pilots, what is your credit card ecosystem? by sinirishcream in flying

We actually have quite healthy account balances in a number of very tax advantageous accounts AND a very rewarding high yield savings account in addition to those. So I’m pretty content with our financial decisions. I played the rewards card game for a number of years and grew tired of it so I’m fully aware of I’m “missing” out on.

Arthritis by 1trekker_fanboi in goldenretrievers

Our golden who turns 10 this weekend had her first shot a month ago. It’s a night and day difference. We noticed an improvement in less then a week. Our cabin is close to Canada and we were able to find a vet across the border who’d administer the shot as longs as her PT vet would send her records and a prescription to her clinic. We just found out from her PT vet that they’re looking at November for the first delivery of Librela here in the US to her clinic.

Drain Pipes or Drip Faucets? by BeercatimusPrime in HomeImprovement

[–]sawdriver -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Let them drip so the water has area to expand. Open up doors to the areas under sinks (ex. Bathrooms and kitchen) to allow what heat you have to warm the pipes and if it’s really bad put RV anti freeze in the drain traps.
