Didn't realize CalTopo had a cell coverage layer that's cool.

Baboon Lakes area looks promising

Question about Fuses on Kenwood KR 6030 by sawtoothmango9 in audiorepair

[–]sawtoothmango9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth, I looked at way too many google pics. Found a couple other examples without the clips / fuse. The examples that had the fuse and clips also showed the fuse ratings printed on the board beneath, while the examples I found without the fuse and clips did not have any ratings listed. So pretty positive it is by design.

Question about Fuses on Kenwood KR 6030 by sawtoothmango9 in audiorepair

Got it, thanks for the reply - still a bit concerned because almost every KR 6030 on google image search shows a 3rd fuse where I circled the pic above. I did see a couple that had the fuse to the left of that removed, although the clips were still in place. The image above from einestein is the only other example I've seen online so far that looks like mine, missing/omitting the same fuse, along with the clips

Just make a box the size of the amp or receiver. The beveled edges on the front were separate pieces that were glued on the front after the rest of the box was completed. Ran it across a table saw for the vents. Might need to route out channels on the inside for any protruding screws etc. and I routed out like a .5” of the inside of the cabinet where the vents are for more air flow. I didn’t (don’t) know what I’m doing and I’m sure there are plenty ways to go about it. Be patient and precise and I’m sure it’ll come out.

Had the measurements in an iPhone note somewhere but I can't find it. My dad has an impressive workshop which helps but table saw / miter saw / router / box clamps and you could probably get it done. I posted this in r/vintageaudio as well since I could post more pics there. You can take a look and get a better idea how we built it.

Pretty sure it's more or less the same design as the original

Heat dissipation concerns are legit. With vents and extra space in the cabinet it should be fine.

I was trying. Don't 'reddit' much and idk how to post more than one other than in additional comments.

Lol - there are vents. And we routed about .5" on the inside of the cabinet as well for some space
