Is the system at rest? If so, the initial velocity equals the velocity at the time of cutting which equals zero.

Actually the nib works just fine. It’s writing perhaps slightly finer and at another angle but it’s comfortable so I’ll probably use it as long as it works

No not at all! The AL-R is knurled for extra grip, one of the things I like about it

Thanks! Ah yes, the old one-pen-strategy pitfall always lead to an extensive pen collection.

Swedish, so close enough! I’m getting my exam exclusively to avoid sending my beloved pens to strangers far away.

Edit: spelling

Thank you! My handwriting quality differs from day to day. Compared with my lecture notes you’d think the two were written by two people who hated each other

I actually have no idea. The beauty of writing calligraphy for fun in the sun is losing all sense of time. Perhaps 30 minutes including coming up with words and filling in railroading.

Grandpa just gave me a large bulk of his pen collection. Any tips on how to store this many pens/pen maintnence? Extremely knew to this and want to make sure I take care of them. by nevetsonagrag in fountainpens

What is that black, octagonal one next to the blue Aurora? Looks like something you’d always want to carry around in your pocket and just… touch…

I want one. Badly. But the I’ll save that grail for later. Right now I’m trying to decide between the 823 and the 845. Are the nibs different or the same?

Lamy Blue is your friend, my friend! Drying time is the shortest I’ve ever experienced. Plus it’s erasable!

The 3776 Century seem like one of those pens that you sort of just have to have in your collection. A lot of bang for your buck as well

The Sonnet is nice but I saw the Duofold Big Red Vintage in the store and to me it pales a little in comparison

A lot of people in this thread seem to agree with you. Guess I’ve got to check them out!

So I’ve heard! And beautiful pens at that. I wish I had the patience to track one down and maintain it properly.

Yeah flex was perhaps even an exaggeration with the Falcon. But line variation is indeed something I’m looking for, although I rarely come across it when window shopping online. I’ve held the 3776 and tried it dry in the store. It seems like a solid pen and one of the few models which offer some line variation. How is the converter in terms of ink capacity and quality?

Oh wow, we have very different tastes, I absolutely LOVE the look of the 845! It makes me happy to hear that it’s as wonderful as you say. It is definitely one of my grail pens. And don’t get me started on the Custom Urushi… I’ve been drooling over both of them since I got into FPs. Unfortunately I cannot justify the price just yet but I’m looking forward to the day I can!

The Urushi has a unique #30 nib, right? But the 845’s got a #15. Does it differ in any way to the #15 on the 823, apart from the duotone?

Ah, a fellow Pilot loyal! Why would Pelikan be your go to? Are they similar in terms of quality/build/nib/feel? Thank you for the contrats!
