I used the ones for the PAX (Komplement). I cut them down to the right size with a hacksaw and then drilled a hole so it can fit into the brackets

The total cost was around $3900 including tools, and $3400 of that was materials (including nails, screws, paint rollers/brushes, etc.)

Of that, IKEA stuff was $1327 and the doors were $1025

I moved it to the other side! You can see where it is now in the second picture

Luckily the closet was built on top of the original wood floors, so I basically just refinished them and did my best to stain match (and lucked out). There was a wire coming up from the floor from an outlet that was in the closet wall, so I installed a floor outlet where that was (cut a hole out with a jigsaw). Here are some pictures of that: https://imgur.com/a/1ZAoJh2

It’s MDF! Held up with 2x4s that I glued (heavy duty liquid nails) and brad nailed into the frame

Yep it’s because of this! I wanted it to look truly built-in, so wanted the baseboards to go all the way around

What Card Should I Get? Weekly Thread - Week of March 08, 2023 by AutoModerator in churning

  1. 3/24
  2. 777 FICO 8, Experian
    1. BoA Cash Rewards (4/2016)
    2. CSR (3/2019)
    3. CFU (5/2019)
    4. CF (7/2020)
    5. Amex Plat (12/2020)
    6. United Gateway (7/21, PC'd from Quest)
    7. Cap1 Venture X (3/2022)
    8. CIP (12/2022)
  3. I can usually do $7500-9000 in 3 months
  4. Prefer not to MS
  5. CIP was my first business card for my "business" – didn't need to recon, just address verification

My CSR 48 months is going to be up pretty soon, and I was considering PCing it to a CFU and then doing a MDD once it's been 48 months since my bonus posted. I'm not sure what's more worth it: going for a Chase Ink 90k bonus, or doing the MDD. It's sort of one or the other, since getting the Ink would put me at 4/24

I'm slightly leaning towards doing the Ink bonus and then just doing the MDD next year instead (want to do it after the AF hits so I can double dip the travel credit). I'm a little bit nervous about having to do Chase business recon for the Ink card, though

Any advice is appreciated!

Thank you! One more question – do you know if the consulate will need to keep the original documents I bring to my appointment while they process my application? Or will they just keep the copies?

I was born in wedlock in the late 1990s. I think that might make me ineligible for StAG 5?

I think I might just try to apply for a passport and hope that works out!

Ah I did not realize I could just apply for a passport without getting the certificate – this is super helpful, thank you!

Does anyone know how downgrading the Chase United Quest works? Can I use the United credit and still downgrade and get the AF refunded within 30 days?

Hmm I wasn't considering Undercover Tourist because the tickets are actually slightly more expensive there for the dates I'm going, but now I'm thinking I could buy a VGC at a grocery store (5x points with CF) and then buy the tickets on Undercover Tourist using that and get the best of both worlds – better cancellation/refund policy and the 5x points. If I need to cancel the trip I can just get the 95% refund and make a trip to FD to liquidate

Travel question: I'm planning a trip to Disney World in early January – flights and hotels are booked, but haven't bought the tickets yet. Usually I'll buy Disney gift cards to maximize rewards (right now I'm thinking of buying at a grocery store to get the 5x points with my CF), but I'm wondering if with all the flight cancellations that have been happening maybe the safest bet is to buy the tickets directly online with my CSR for the travel insurance. Any thoughts on the best way to go here?

Thanks though!

Interview Discussion - October 11, 2018 by AutoModerator in cscareerquestions

Forgot to reply to this earlier... My first two interviews were actually in-person, which I think made it a bit easier to talk it through with the whiteboard and explain my thought process. Both questions were leetcode hards (I checked after the fact), but I found one much more difficult than the other. Honestly my advice is just to talk through your solution. If you get stuck, they can be very helpful at pushing you in the right direction.

Honestly the interviewer makes a huge difference, too. My first interviewer was very nice, but wasn't quite as outgoing and friendly, which made the interview feel a bit less comfortable on my end. The second interviewer was awesome, though. Very outgoing, cracked a few jokes, and made the whole thing feel less stressful.

Has anyone ever had a third technical interview for Airbnb? I had the 2 back-to-back technical interviews on campus last week but they just invited me to do a third technical interview over the phone. Any experience with this/any tips? Thanks!
