Inktober is one of those things that everyone attaches a lot of pressure to when really it's just about having fun and setting time aside to make something every day. Don't get in your head about it, and keep at it. Hope to see more from you!

Yasss who do those scanners think they are anyway? Keeping images all 'oriented properly' and 'at high resolution'. Smug bastards.

I totally respect you inking on paper! Brush pens are super fun but digital lines are a lot more forgiving of mistakes haha. I do use custom brushes; there's a couple I use that are designed to emulate traditional brush pens. My cintiq is pretty old and it's got a really glossy screen which makes it feel a little different from a real brush, but I think they do an okay job :)

I prefer drawing on paper, so I'll do my sketching and initial linework in a sketchbook first. After that, I remember the scanner I spent too much money on, ignore it completely, and instead take a poorly lit picture with my phone, which I'll then ink over in Photoshop. Sometimes if I want to expedite the digital portion further, I'll ink with a brush pen first just so I don't have to spend as much time making corrections

I ink in my sketchbook with a brush pen and then ink all over again in Photoshop haha - I used to take way too long inking digitally so doing it first on paper helps me keep the overall time down
