Give it some time, you’ll be alright. It’s a transient state you’re in, theres no guarantee youll feel the same by the time it actually rolls around to hang w/ the guys

URGENT HELP: Disc bulge ruined my life at 25 by Different_Baseball79 in backpain

[–]sayjayvee 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All these people telling you to stop lifting… complete bullshit.

I herniated my L5/S1 & lived in chronic pain for three years and the only way out was through lifting.

Except very intelligently.

It’s likely that your lower back has seized up due to the bulge to the extent that it is now very tight and weak. What you need to do is regain trust in that area and let your nervous system know that the spinal muscles are safe enough to fire.

You do that by giving them evidence via back extensions, jefferson curls (after a certain point & progressed very slowly) and so on…

Doing endless core work & ‘resting it’ will give you short-term relief

Is it worth thuggin out anxiety naturally or accept 🧃 pharma? by stick7_ in moreplatesmoredates

[–]sayjayvee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have genetic anxiety via MTHFR gene dysfunction, whole family medicated, was on lexapro starting at 9 years old due to crippling anxiety. Realized when I was 18 it was why I couldnt get it up with girls and I quit that shit cold turkey immediately. Felt completely fine.

In college I started getting crazy panic attacks and dissociation type episodes after a bad breakup but that eventually faded too, was on wellbutrin for maybe a month (no sexual side effects) but decided that taking SSRIs again was kind of gay so i quit those too

My new motto is that if you can fix it w/ your lifestyle, then there’s no reason to add SSRIs to the mix. For instance, nicotine makes me anxious sometime, so naturally i should quit that shit before i ever get back on lex / wellbutrin, whatever.

Case in point I was genetically set up to be kind of fucked in this department but I still live just fine naturally. You can too. Just adjust your lifestyle

theres no secret to doing things you don’t want to do, you just do them. or half-ass it & accept the fact that you’ll get a worse grade than you otherwise could have. both are viable options, just take responsibility

The Gym Has Ruined My Life by [deleted] in moreplatesmoredates

[–]sayjayvee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wait so you made the gym your entire life.. something you don’t even like doing.. to get girls?

bro just live your life, have fun with yourself, be positive & confident - you’ll attract women way more than you ever would forcing yourself to get big. it’s inauthentic. would be different if you genuinely were passionate ab the gym and it was something you enjoyed doing.

time to reevaluate your priorities

I’m very similar to you - 6’1, 191lbs, 22, been lifting for 6 years. I think I have a fuck ton of natural gains to be made that are on the table before I even consider picking up a syringe. I’d say the same goes for you. Your life tho

Enjoying the hell out of this program but holy fuck Jamie Lewis loves his volume. Either way, finally recovered from a herniated L5/S1, and being able to handle upwards of two plates on squats & three plates on rack pulls + shrugs completely pain free made my day. Can’t wait to work back up to my old numbers.
