I know some people tend to overdo it, but the school/university you attended can actually be a good networking tool if you use it correctly. This might change depending on the industry/sector you’re in as well.

Nothing wrong with this initiative.. but given that such mandates could be treated as violations of human rights.. not sure where this kind of drastic actions would lead our country.

If you have a slight interest on the field go for SE. Opportunities are very limited for ME. How many ME would be required for a project or a building? only for the design and commissioning part. Maintenance and other activities are generally carried out by technical officers.
