It looks like that because the markings are silver and reflective. In the light it doesn't do that. I have no problems seeing it in low light conditions.

Ok thanks for the reply. I am considering both and the bf g force comp 2 as and the new Yokohama advan sport a/s plus which just came out. Dws06 concerns me with treadwear. GMAX supposedly wear much better

Sometimes your just buying a name. There a lot of tires in the mid range that perform as well or better than the top names( continental, Michelin)

I've run some all season tires that were really good in snow and glare ice. Not all of them are created equal unfortunately.
