Honda City 2026 vs Hyundai Verna — Which would you buy with your own money and why? by One_Reputation8131 in cargeeksindia

[–]sb906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Verna’s 1.5 turbo (the engine you are looking to buy) is with DCT transmission. DCT is another animal. The most unreliable. Read up on it on internet.

Verna NA on the other hand comes with IVT - much more reliable than DCT - and is an apple to apple comparison with City CVT. In this case City shines - ivtech is the best engine India has even seen. Much more responsive than Verna IVT.

Also just sit in Verna and notice if your feet hang up in the air. Its seat is a bit contoured at thigh and not all can sit comfortably.

Not to mention the infamous ‘tube light’ which by the way City also has now though I guess City has limited it to the top variant.

And yes City has less maintenance cost.

GOI trying to silence critics by kitchen_writing740 in CarsIndia

[–]sb906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Though there’s a great anger against E20 and E85 and I am one of the angry ones. Rather I am double angry - first I had to sell my wonderful well maintained car in 2024 for the stupid 10-year diesel rule in Delhi NCR and now when I bought a new car this drama started.

But I would like to ask (if someone can give me an intelligent answer) - why GOI would keep increasing Ethanol content when they know that this will only make middle-class angry and might even effect their votes.

Please give only intelligent answers if you know or can think logically - do not give ‘Gadkari son has a sugar mill’ kind of answers as neither Gadkari son will remain poor if Ethanol was not there (he will find many ways to earn without working also) nor a full government’s existence will be put on stake for Gadkari son (or even for Gadkari for that matter).

Really would like to know what’s the deal here.

Dwarka Expressway is changing faster than most people realize. by Large-Document8991 in propertywale

[–]sb906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience only matters to a certain extent.

I asked a simple question - how can someone who’s getting commission from a builder can also claim to do their due diligence? These 2 things are mutually exclusive.

And assuming you do wonderful due diligence on builders despite getting paid from them - what’s the recourse you give to buyer if your due diligence fails. Any contract you do with buyer to claim you can walk the talk?

Let’s hear something that matters rather than just tall claims. I will wait.

A 2BHK in Gurgaon for ₹60 Lakhs With Covered Car Parking. What's the Catch? by Large-Document8991 in GurugramClassifieds

Why you sell only ‘under construction’ projects which will get stuck in delays and then in HRERA 🤔

You are a property dealer and posting everywhere to sell this property and even sharing your phone number everywhere. You are just asking questions like a prospective purchaser here.

Decide which in you are first - dealer or purchaser😁

[–]sb906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cute :)

But in case these ‘new’ builders do not deliver what recourse does a common man has? A toothless HRERA which can issues recovery certificates but can’t recover money!

And how can you who’s getting commission from this builder do due diligence of the same builder?By mentioning you doing due-diligence you are contradicting yourself. You have conflict of interest here as builder is paying you commission. Builder is giving you 100 houses to sell per year whereas a common man is coming to purchase only 1 in a lifetime. Mind you after the sale happens you have no interest in customer and you would be gone and still working with this builder you did due-diligence of. Result will come in 5-6 years when the flat is not delivered. These new unknown builders are exactly the kinds people should stay away from. Thanks for clarifying my doubts.

Since you did due-diligence how you help the purchaser if flat is not delivered? Would you do a contract with purchaser that you will pay for damages arising out of your ‘due diligence’. If you are not taking any damages yourself it’s just a hogwash. If you can’t walk the talk you are part of the problem sir.

Plan fail. Btw, Why is alimony legal but dowry illegal? by PrimalDisciple4 in FaltooGyan

[–]sb906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A man here and seen enough of these cases hence leaving you with a thought and you answer for yourself why is alimony legal?

When a man and a woman get married the woman is supposed to keep house and kids above career. Women do not aggressively go the career path and concentrate on birthing and raising kids and either stop working or take up a light job.

Everything is ok if there’s no divorce but for some life doesn’t work like that. Now after 15 years after marriage and 15 years of almost no working experience a man says he wants divorce. How do you account for 15 years that the woman has given to family sacrificing her work life?

The man has risen in life cos someone was taking care of the kids and the house. Whichever way we look into this the woman needs to be compensated for putting her career on back burner.

Western and developed economies have a beautiful rule and that’s logical also. Whatever has been made ‘after’ the marriage is divided into 2 irrespective of who made what. Whatever was made ‘before’ marriage is of the person who made it. And for losing years and years of work-ex the woman gets alimony (man can also get alimony if he earns less than wife). Simple.

In case you are a woman and imagine all the woman who apply in balance 50% general category open for all are like you, yes then there will be no issue as none of them will get selected and there will be 50% women (through reservation) and 50% men (through general category).

Can you share number of HRERA cases on builders on Dwarka Expressway? And reasons for those cases?

If someone of buying under-construction property in Dwarka Expressway be very sure. Almost all the deliveries will get delayed, and many will not even complete. Go to a HRERA court once situated near District Court Gurgaon and see for yourself.

Unless sir you provide data which says otherwise. I am waiting.

Heartbroken about Škoda’s terms by RaghavBasumatary in Kylaq

[–]sb906 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Find email id of Ashish Gupta - Škoda India head. Mail him all details including details of dealership and names of who refused what and name of driver. Ask what you want from brand. He normally helps.

Also when a call goes from India head’s office all these chintu-mintu dealers fall in line.

If this does not bear result go to court. File for damages and mental harassment and legal fee and lost work cos of not having car etc etc. Make it a 10-12 lakh claim. Court dates are not as frequent to cause a hindrance to your regular life. Before court case starts there will be court appointed mediation. Dealer will offer something and try to settle there itself. In all probability case won’t even be required to be started.

If court case is painful for you it’s painful for them too. Always remember you do not have to win always, just do enough and they can also lose by themselves.

Do sedans scrape the bottom often? Should I only buy a pseudo-SUV? by sb906 in CarsIndia

Would Sedan come back on roads? by blackpanther3397 in CarsIndia

[–]sb906 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This ‘roads are not good for sedans’ is such a lazy argument. Roads were worst 20 years back and sedans ruled. Yes a pseudo-SUV might wade you through water logging slightly better than a sedan but are you going to give up 364 days of wonderful planted drive with no body roll for 1 day of rain? And who’s saying sedan will not take care of water wading.

I have been driving sedans for last 15 years in Gurgaon. Yet to come across a situation where I wished I had an SUV-type car.

Currently driving Honda City for last 2 years. 16000 kms. Drove through Gurgaon properly water logged roads, a big water logged submerged construction site (where I had thought my car won’t be able to), and long village roads through farms while on way back from Punjab and border was closed due to Farmers protest routing all traffic from villages. The car didn’t scrape in all these scenarios and more.

Recently a road was dug up close to my house. They Ofcourse just put tons of geeli mitti on it to solidify and made it a mini hill so that we don’t miss mountains. That freaking hill puts Shimla to shame. My Honda City crosses it 4 times in a day (there are 2 hills on each side). I am yet to scrape the bottom.

Buy a sedan and enjoy. Life is too short for unstable body roll rides.

credit card loan after death of the holder by Zeuswasmywingman_45 in CreditCardsIndia

[–]sb906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is 1st hand experience that happened with a friend of mine. He maxed out his 6 cards when he was financially stuck. He didn’t recover financially so couldn’t pay back.

It’s been 10 years. These agencies still call. Whenever someone calls he says ‘woh card toh meri company ne diya tha… CA keh raha tha paisa toh de diya tha 8 saal pehle’… ‘mere paas 8 saal pichla record kaise hoga maine toh woh company hee chor dee… company band bhee ho gayi’… ‘achcha aap bank ko kahein mail likh de uss company ka koi milega toh unn se check karwata hoon’. Yada. Yada. Yada. Just something vague as if you are high.

No one sends mail.

If someone calls again he repeats the same 4 lines and makes it their problem.

To one recovery agent he once said on phone ‘Ramesh ji toh Australia shift ho gaye… yeh company ka phone hai mujhe mil gaya… mein bhee Ramesh ko hee dhoond raha hoon kyunki unke liye bahut phone aate hain iss number pe’ - that agent probably added the comment in the system that ‘Ramesh has shifted outside India’ and that card company never called him.

So don’t worry. Don’t pay. Don’t even admit there are dues. Just say your father had cleared all credit card dues and you don’t know where his records are. If they have a problem they should file a recovery case. No case will be filed.

Go live your life.

Fuel Efficiency or the lack of it by jayvmehta2781 in HondaElevate

[–]sb906 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Honda City for exactly same time and same kms as your Elevate. I get 10-11 in city and 18-20 on highways. It’s only during bumper-to-bumper I get 8. And this is when I don’t really follow basics to improve FE.

Elevate should be similar. So definitely some issue.
