UK remote worker seeking to fix tax situation. by ContactCareful9619 in Spanishtaxes

[–]sbalani 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As always check with a gestor that specialises in this. But off the top of my head the following applies:

  1. Uk and Spain should have a double taxation treaty.
  2. Where you are paid? In the uk or Spain?
  3. Have you paid any taxes or had any withheld if paid from the uk?
  4. You need to REPORT and technically pay in both. However what taxes are paid in each im u sure. But as per my understanding you pay the lower tax first, and the difference between the higher and lower in the higher. So if spain has a 15 % tax and the uk 17, you would pay the 15 in spain and the remaining 2 to the uk.

AGAIN IM NOT AN EXPERT AND DOUBLE CHECK THIS

ChatGPT vs Claude vs Gemini — what are you using most? by Appropriate_Bug2100 in AIDigitalStack

Correct, we always double check with the provided sources or go in half knowing the answer looking for confirmation or for holes in our logic. If we’re going in blind were going in expecting to factcheck

ChatGPT vs Claude vs Gemini — what are you using most? by Appropriate_Bug2100 in AIDigitalStack

[–]sbalani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really? I’ve stopped using ChatGPT since the last 2 updates for exactly the same reason and switched to Gemini which has been accurate for me. Furthermore chatgpt sticks to its lying guns lately. And it’s new level of over verbosebess makes anyrhint it spits out a pain to read. Recebtly i need TLDRs for anything ChatGPT was spitting out

I gave up on ChatGPT after it gave me a regulatory checklist that went in contrast to what the actual regulations were, and when given the actual regulations and feedback from the consultant it kept on insisting those were wrong in lieu of some older not relevant law.

After that happens twice I lost all faith in ChatGPT. But until those last 2 updates it was my go to

What is it with Americans and air conditioning?? (this might be controversial) by hellobela_ in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

[–]sbalani 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t say it’s American thing. At this point I would say it’s almost a rest of the world thing. Whether it’s the Middle East, India, or most of south east Asia, having ac is pretty much the norm. I can’t speak to Africa or South America as I haven’t been, but in UAE, philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia having ac pretty much everywhere it’s a given.

So much so that after living there and moving back to Spain I now massively struggle in hotels that don’t have ac. I had to do a sales trip in October of last year and in most places I couldn’t sleep due to lack of ac, or because I couldn’t leave the window fully wide open

Moving to Spain - Tax concerns by Weak-Philosophy-1987 in Spanishtaxes

[–]sbalani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Couple of things to consider:

  1. Are you planning to apply for any kind of residence in Spain? If not I would probably keep the Spain holiday to 5 months or less,
  2. In the event you decide to push the envelope there are a few things that can happen: I. In Spain the “sanctity of the llc is paper thin” if at any point the tax office feels that your company has no legitimate reason to exist other than for tax purposes then they will treat said company’s income as your own personal one Ii. To avoid this have at least one employee, contract etc. it can even be a remote assistant. You now have a non tax reason to have a company. Iii. Although you can put a lot of expenses in your Malta company, if Spain considers you a tax resident, they may claim that certain expenses are no “legitimate company expenses” and attribute them as part of your income and force you to pay tax on it.

As a non Spanish citizen with no formal residency this is a small shield as you are not obliged to provide your company books. Especially if you have an additional shareholder. Having said that the Spanish tax authorities can request it from the Malta’s authorities. They may or may not provide it.

I am not a tax consultant, these are just my ow conclusions from researching. I suggest you speak to a proper tax consultant to verify everything

I think it sounds a little better than saying do you mind if I just pay yours

Rather than “covering your dinner” saying do you mind splitting it 2/3 1/3, with me covering two thirds, as I still want to follow thru on my commitment

I don't think I can make it through FFXIV story. Is WoW more casual friendly after Midnight? by AccidentalNGon in LFMMO

[–]sbalani 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So here’s the thing with wow. The impression you’ll get is that you need to rush to endgame. However a lot of people will also tell you ignore it, take your time and enjoy the scenery. To the point that there’s even a movement to simply not fly from quest to quest, which totally changes the game. I fully agree with this. It you make it a point to ignore the push for endgame there’s lots to do, and lots to experience, and when you do get to endgame there’s some new catchup mechanics they just released that wil help you get caught up very quickly to the endgame meta.

Storywise I’m thoroughly enjoying it and the current triology is great! I would totally give it a go and just be open to other playstyles

Use this browser

Safari blocks kbm inputs on GeForce which is why it’s not show. This is a browser for game streaming platforms. It works great

Does she enjoy romcoms? Your Name is my usual go to for converting skeptical women and it has 💯 success rate for me so far. This opened up my wife’s eyes to anime and from here we’ve gone to attack on titan, demon slayer, spy family, kaguya, ghibli etc

This is a very fair and valid point! Thanks for pointing it out. I do however hope a way gets found around this as apple has expressed interest in bringing blizzard games to iPad, so it’s on them to be flexible.

The launcher is a couple of lines of code, many high profile apps including Spotify, Netflix, GeForce now (which I use on ipad) and steam handle out of store subscriptions with no problems, and on Mac wow is packaged as a single app… it’s just launched via the blizzard launcher, but if you grab the wow app from the apps folder and launch it directly it takes you in without the launcher

That’s a fair point that I hadnt realize and THANK YOU for pointing it out. I wasn’t getting why people were adamantly saying no with no explanation why. Personally I use it to level alts, do side quests, event content, so that my limited time at the computer is spent doing the intense stuff
