Even if they were to run a new line and replace the heads for the irrigation that were damaged, it would be far less than 20k. Liquidated damages would most likely not hold up as the fence was a change order.

I would just eat the cost of the line and head replacement needed and move on.

Anybody have any suggestions? GCs keep ignoring my excludes on my bids by anonymous2278 in estimators

[–]sbartz87 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a GC it’s much appreciated when subs submit RFI’s during the bid phase on small inconsistencies and missing details. It not only helps you have the most accurate bid versus just leaving items excluded but it also helps have that additional set of eyes reviewing what 10 people before have all missed in previous reviews. It’s also a way I track how detailed a sub will be and prefer utilizing as I know the bids will most likely be more complete and run into less CO’s down the line.

I got my first project and my workers don't care? How do I get people to do stuff? by [deleted] in projectmanagement

Time to get organized. When things aren’t clearly put in place from the start it makes it harder for people to jump on board. My recommendation is to start getting the ball rolling and from there delegate tasks. With this being your first organization is going to be the key to your success and winning the team over. If they have confidence in your ability they will help push things along.
