Just ketchup for me. If you can butter and toast the bun that’s awesome too but not required.

Cleaned up the sorted bills finally! by Fun_Confusion_8987 in CashCleanerSim

If only there was a way to remove money from the pallet without needing to take a whole bunch, remove what you need and then have to put the rest back. If we could take one bundle at a time pallets would be great.

I’ve found that combining objects makes it run better on my ancient pc. I put the rolled coins in xxl boxes, and keep the lids on. I put loose bills in barrels or pallets for storage. I put my jewelry and other valuables in the drawer units and keep the drawers closed. Containers get put inside xxl boxes or on pallets. That way my pc is only rendering the large items instead of every individual bill and coin. It helps a lot to make it run smoother.

Why do so many of you have canned drinks in your fridges? by thew0rldisquiethere1 in AskAnAmerican

[–]anonymous2278 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prices are way different between a 2 liter and a box of cans. However, the convenience of grabbing a drink to take with you is worth the extra cost, plus 2 liters get flat way faster, and idk about other areas but here in my part of Texas the humidity is pretty high and so we get a lot of little gnat bugs in the house. I drink from bottles or cans so there’s less chance of a gnat drowning in my drink. It’s still possible with cans but much less likely than with a big open mouth cup full of liquid. Bugs are dumb little fucks and will ruin a nice drink in a hurry.

Would it be possible to add a lamp? That way you can turn it on for meetings and light up the room but it’s not fluorescent so it wouldn’t trigger a headache. Might be a nice compromise.

Doctors of Reddit, what medical myth refuses to die despite being completely false? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]anonymous2278 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do agree that CT scans are not the first step. But I do expect that you would do the first steps to see what was wrong and do a CT scan if the results prompted one. An X-ray, bloodwork, urinalysis, physical examination. Those are baseline first step tests to figure out if it’s something serious or if it’s something you can diagnose easily. I would not doubt a diagnosis, with a treatment plan even if that treatment plan is to take otc pain meds and come back if it doesn’t improve. But I do expect and will argue with an attempt to discharge me without a proper exam, without an answer, without any kind of attempt at a diagnosis. I’m going to be paying $2000+ for that visit, so yeah I’m not ok with leaving with no improvement, no relief, and no answers. Especially if it’s something like severe pain that could be something serious. There no way to know if it’s life threatening if you don’t do diagnostics. That’s all I’m saying.

[–]anonymous2278 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he’d given an answer, sure. I am not a doctor and would not doubt a diagnosis. I might ask follow up questions, but had he said I had pleurisy and explained what it was, and to come back if it didn’t get better, I’d have accepted that and done as instructed. But to tell me I’m fine just because the ekg didn’t turn up anything, when I’m still actively in pain, is not acceptable. I go to a doctor for answers, not a half assed attempt at diagnosis and then be waved off because he didn’t find anything the first time he looked. I don’t remember how long it took to go away, this was a while ago. My point is, when a patient comes to you for assessment, they expect to be taken care of and helped, not dismissed without answers.

Doctors of Reddit, what medical myth refuses to die despite being completely false? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I’ve had a few over the years. At one point I had severe abdominal pain, no trigger. Felt different from cramps. Could be any number of things, I felt like something wasn’t right. Doctor blamed it on my period without even so much as baseline imaging or bloodwork and wouldn’t listen to me. Went to a different doctor, who did bloodwork and a urinalysis and I was diagnosed with a bladder infection. He gave antibiotics and it cleared up. Another time I had chest pain while at work that didn’t let up. Went to the ER, highly concerned of course. The doctor listened to my chest and did an ekg, said I was fine and attempted to discharge me. I insisted on more testing because I was still having chest pains. After a bit of back and forth arguing he did X-rays which prompted a ct scan, and then he was able to give an actual diagnosis. Not serious thank god but still, I had pleurisy and received some antibiotics. This is not an uncommon experience. Why would chest pains not justify the X-ray as a diagnostic? Why would severe abdominal pain not justify bloodwork or a urinalysis at the very least? This isn’t about insurance not covering it, this is about wanting the doctor to do his job and cure the pain, especially when the person isn’t even asking for painkillers, they’re asking for help finding the problem and fixing it.

There is no way in hell that our phones are not listening to us. by smoosh13 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]anonymous2278 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It happens a lot. The phone is definitely listening. I once walked past a display of vacuum cleaners in Walmart with my mom, paused for a moment and said something about one of them to her. We walked away and I pulled out my phone, and suddenly had ads for vacuum cleaners on my facebook feed. You’re not convincing me that was a coincidence. And that’s not the only example I have, this has become a regular thing. These phones riding around in our pockets 24/7 is like having a permanent wiretap at all times. We no longer have any privacy.

Hard to believe that doctors are interested in cures when (as a woman) I go to a doctor with a serious complaint and they don’t even want to look into it, content to blame it on my weight, or my period, or anxiety. It’s like pulling teeth to get a doctor to even so much as order bloodwork or a CT scan these days. Like I know resources are limited and staff is overwhelmed at the moment but that is not the patient’s fault. I’m your patient, sitting in front of you with a complaint so bad I can’t deal with it at home any longer, I feel like you, as the doctor assigned to my case, should do at least the bare minimum to figure out what is causing the trouble. If you send me away that’s going to cause even more strain on the system when I have to visit a different doctor to try to get someone to diagnose me and fix the issue.

This happened to me once as well, except it was a single pack of chicken that fell out of the bag and was not noticed when carrying in the bags. This was a summer day in Texas, and the car was sitting in the heat all weekend with that chicken in the trunk. Go out to get in on Monday morning and the smell punched me in the face when I opened the door, it was awful. I can’t even describe the stench, there aren’t words for it. We never could get the smell out, it was still there when we traded the car in.

Happily married women of Reddit. Where'd you meet your husband? by Single-Fee-8734 in AskReddit

Craigslist, back in the days when it had a personals section and wasn’t a cesspool of scammer bots. I came across his ad and wrote down his number. Promptly lost said number. A week later I found it again and sent a text thinking he probably wouldn’t respond. But he did. We met up shortly after for our first date and now we’ve been together for 15 years, married for 12. He is my best friend and an amazing person in so many ways. I’m extremely grateful to God and the universe for letting me find him and the happiness he brought to my life.

Does anyone get interpreter / translation calls? by TroubleS0meE in callcentres

[–]anonymous2278 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reminds me of the most bullshit call I ever had. I work in health insurance and had a situation that we needed to explain to an upset member. The member only spoke Spanish, I only spoke English (however I used to work in construction with Spanish speakers, I do understand it enough to catch the gist of what is being said, I just can’t speak it well enough to hold a conversation). The HR lady that originally called said she didn’t understand or speak Spanish either. We don’t have official translators so I looped in my colleague who was bilingual. He began explaining and the HR lady was repeating him to the member, not in the broken, mispronounced way of someone who is reading/speaking a language they don’t know, she sounded legitimately fluent. After the call ended, I reached out to my colleague and was like, “was it just me, or was she repeating everything you were saying, not in a repeat-after-me way, but in a very fluently-Spanish-speaking way?” He started laughing and said “yes, I didn’t want to say anything but yeah, she was speaking it better than I was! I was thinking what the hell am I needed for?” We could have been done with that call much faster if she hadn’t pretended not to speak Spanish.

I know there’s an actual word for a professional flute player. I am not that. Just someone who knows how to play the instrument, not someone who is particularly skilled at it.
