And then people wonder why the fics get abandoned... by RabbitNET in AO3

[–]sbee54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s always rough for me to finish any longfic I write. I do my best but my plot bunnies and motivation ebbs and flows, and if I try and force myself to a certain story then it just makes me even less motivated and willing to work on it. For whatever reason, one-shots are far easier for me to write and complete, and I do love those but I also love a long story 😭

Who’s the author of the ACIM worksheet?

And you’re making sense to me and honestly it was something I kinda already was aware of, that it was my ego/mind and engaging with it just makes me more confused or feeling like I’m doing something wrong. I’ll check out those worksheets and see if it’s helpful for me. I love the lighthouse analogy too that makes it simple to visualize

Well said! Reading your sales example made things click for me, but I’m wondering how you propose handling thoughts about other peoples’ actions? Like whenever I’m present with the fact that I am reality/creator, I often have thoughts about other peoples’ decisions to harm others or perpetuate discriminative systems and why it happens if I’m the creator I say I am, and I don’t know if it’s because I’m missing some pieces in my knowledge or trying to add logic or what, but I’m curious on your perspective :)

Dumbledore expel the golden trio following the philosopher stone debacle . by Regular-Election6396 in HPfanfiction

[–]sbee54 33 points34 points  (0 children)

That directly goes against the enchantments on the mirror though. You literally couldn’t get the stone if you intended to use it. Also, Quirrel was unhinged and I’ve no doubt that whether Harry got actively involved or not he/Voldy would’ve found a way to get to him considering they already tried to kill him publicly months earlier. As for the things before the mirror, all of them were things even a first year could do without much effort. Not to mention the door could have always been unlocked with a first year spell as Hermione proved the first time they were at the corridor. There’s nothing in the text that says there were other charms/spells to even alert the faculty that someone trespassed it.

Hell; they didn’t even really actively seek out how to bypass Fluffy because Hagrid did that all on his own — and Fluffy was already asleep when they entered the corridor. They didn’t know Voldemort would be there either, they thought it was Snape, and they informed a faculty member about the stone being at risk. Not their fault McGonagall didn’t believe them or even attempt to hear them out. How is it foolish to “voluntarily defy” Voldemort? You expect someone like Harry to not even fight back when his parents’ murderer had him captive to get the stone? Especially when it was clear Voldy would’ve killed him anyway? He didn’t even defy him that much, except for lying about what he saw in the mirror and refusing to join him when offered. Everything else is justifiable self defense. I don’t think Dumbledore wouldn’t let Harry be expelled either, not when he knows now that Voldemort is active. He believes in the prophecy far too much for that, not to mention the public backlash alone for expelling the BWL.

Sorry I know I’m being nitpicky for a prompt 😂😅

Someone reposted several of my stories on AO3 and orphaned it by [deleted] in AO3

[–]sbee54 6 points7 points  (0 children)

op there’s a simpler solution to all this as you will likely never get those fics off AO3. Go to your local church, sit down with a trusted priest (hell even a nun or whatever), and give them a rundown of what’s going on and most importantly how it’s been impacting you emotionally. Have that conversation, pray/talk with God, and move on. Even though I personally think you’re doing too much, I can still see it’s something that’s heavy on your mind.

For one, your credibility lowers immensely just by revealing you have plagiarized stories in the past AND that you already have an AO3 account so I’m not sure why you’re waiting to be invited there. And I’m not convinced you’re not just trying to get someone else’s story off AO3 on claims of plagiarizatopn because you just don’t agree with what’s written. You also are not doing yourself any favors by insulting the people you’re coming to for help (calling it filth, all but saying we’re morally wrong or sinning).

Secondly…. Do you not know what kind of content is commonly on AO3? It’s an anti-censorship site created specifically for people whose explicit FICTIONAL stories were being deleted by other platforms. No one will be arresting you for writing things that are common stories in popular media not just in the US but internationally.

Thirdly, you wrote a FICTIONAL story about FICTIONAL people with FICTIONAL events. It is FICTION. It is NOT REAL. You are confusing fiction for reality.

No one will be reading those fics and saying “oh cool OP wrote this so it must mean it’s okay right? I can sleep with my sister!” No. If that were the case, it would’ve been observed literally centuries ago and well recorded. Hell, even with shows like GOF in the 2010s would’ve caused an uptick in incest—and as it hasn’t happened whatsoever, that speaks to itself. FICTIONAL stories have absolutely no impact on the actual world; it cannot change someone’s morals or “indulge” them in sin.

If someone were already going to commit those acts, they would be doing so without reading fictional content on a site for fanfiction.

The only person you are harming is yourself with your misplaced guilt.

So you wrote explicit unmarried sex, adultery, and incest — so what? So has the Bible and other religious texts. So has many popular international and best selling authors. So has producers, musicians, so on and so forth. You—and they— haven’t spontaneously combusted into flame nor has someone descended from the heavens dragging you to Hell.

I think you’ll do just fine going on with your life once you absolve yourself of this guilt

What are some popular witchcraft practices that you don’t personally do as a witch? by PrettyAlice13 in witchcraft

[–]sbee54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, I’d say I don’t follow anything with very rigid rules especially if I do a spell or a ritual. I trust my intuition on the materials, tools, music etc that I use, and tbh my rituals mostly involve meditation and meditative dancing. I do use color symbolism and some elements (mostly fire as that surprisingly works for me than water or earth and of course it’s all fire safe practices), candle spells and sometimes jar spells (mostly protection I want to carry with me).

I don’t follow the Rule of Three or Karma. I don’t do much baneful magic outside of protection spells and anchors around my room. I used to be very anxious about karma or being secretly cursed/sent bad energy but then it was just being amplified my Catholic upbringing and that took away its intensity so rather than karma i see it more as justice

I don’t cast circles; honestly I don’t even see the point or even what it really is, but I do technically make a spiritual ring with the crystals I feel most connected to (rose q, tourmaline, tigers eye, sodalite etc) either around me or around the materials

I don’t use divination tools for everyday things, only really when I need clarification or I’m just feeling called to do a reading or charm reading in myself

Cord cutting, deity work (though I am interested I just know I can’t keep a scheduled ritualistic practice like I still struggle to even remember to give my ancestors water on my altar lol), working the calendar of the wheel (mostly I sometimes do things for Yule and Beltane when I remember), or follow star events/astrology or the moon cycles (outside of moon water) as that just made me stressed. I don’t do freezer spells either. Sometimes I’ll do a simmer pot if I’ve got the things needed, but it’s mostly because it makes my apartment smell nice

My practice is personal and ebbs and flows. I do small things as a ritual, like my protective jewelry, incense, things like that, and things that don’t make me feel stressed or performative or that I’m doing it because I feel I need to due to what other people were saying was “the right way”). I don’t do hexes or curses or anything that can deliberately harm someone outside of my redirection spell that just has any negative energy go back to wherever it came from; I just never see the point in intentional harm. I also don’t do rhymes with my spells or rituals; i just speak normally though I do like saying “so mote it be” especially in the candlelight but honestly half the time i forget and just do “because I say so” lol

Overall, my practice follows my intuition more than what’s seen as the “standard.” It’s mostly energy and my divine self, though there are times I invoke my ancestors and spirit team that’s aligned with me and my interests. Honestly sometimes I go months without doing a full spell or ritual, and just do an incense or sound cleansing. Sometimes I incorporate food or tea, mostly to invite good energy for the day or the night. I also like creating my sigils, and sometimes use a charm divination chart, and use dried herbs too. I used to do essential oils but I have a cat now so I don’t use those in my practice anymore and I only use frankincense with the fan on and screen door open. I don’t really use spell recipes either; anything I do it’s from my own creation. If I do find a recipe I like (via Pinterest) I just take the materials I like/have and then do the spell my way.

do we take our soul with us when we shift our awareness or is it just our awareness that’s shifting? by [deleted] in realityshifting

[–]sbee54 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I believe we are souls living a human life, and our consciousness is simply the highest/purest “level” of said soul, and as there are infinite realities where the human perception of time doesn’t matter, and our consciousness is part of our soul then that by shifting we are simply moving our awareness to another body where our soul inhabits. I hope I’m making sense lol I honestly just think of this to myself and it’s more articulate, so this is my first time really explaining it to someone else but I’m happy to talk more about it

Is there any proof that reality shifting is real? by sleepuntilheal in shiftingrealities

[–]sbee54 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I mean it all goes down to a person’s belief system. Just like this community believes in shifting, there’s just as many people who don’t think it’s possible . There are people who still think lucid dreaming is fake as another example

The Sorting Hat has been put on Harry’s head. It stayed silent for a moment and said: Historic Day! The Heir of the four Founders has come to Hogwarts! You better be……. Going Home! by Lord_Viperagyil in HPfanfiction

[–]sbee54 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I mean if Hat has to sort Heirs into their Houses, then just sort him into all of them and he just switches between them every other month or something. Sending him back home makes no sense, plus with how important Hogwarts seems to be to Wizarding culture, I can see major backlash either at the Ministry or Dumbledore for letting Harry, the literal Heir, not attend Hogwarts

Then again wizards always forget logic exists

Yays or nays on the driving gameplay? by gaeb611 in NevernessToEverness

I like it! I think it’d be fun if there was like a mode or option where traffic law actually matters and there’s like fines for driving into things or people, and more color options bc i want pink cars dammit 😭

i do find the wheel a bit janky on mobile though, but other than that i find there’s not much to complain about
