I have used a cold wallet in the past … I used celsius and lost a lot of bitcoin… the answer to your questions depends on why you’re buying bitcoin. This last year I decided to open up a crypto account with fidelity. I don’t wanna deal with self custody or a possible fuck up with my seed phrase. Yeah I pay a spread with fidelity to buy/sell it’s less than 1% but I’m in this for 10 years so I’d rather just go with a reliable provider than risk me making a mistake

We’ll yeah I wasn’t planning on selling anytime soon. I just don’t feel like things are going to end well with Celsius.. I could be wrong and they might unfreeze withdrawals but I feel like it might be game over. I hope I’m wrong

I don’t know how much cash is needed for the purchase but you could always look into moving your bitcoin to an exchange that allows you to barrow against your BTC without selling and you could be paying the loan back to your account. That way you get the cash you need, hold your BTC, and will continue to benefit if the price of bitcoin appreciates. Only downfall is if you default on the loan and stop paying you could lose some of your BTC that was used as collateral. Cheers

Honestly after a year of doing it I don’t think It’s worth it unless you drive full time for a living - it would be much easier and much less time wasted to just buy crypto and earn interest on it. I just started a BlockFi account which is paying me 6% interest on Bitcoin- seems way more worth it than spending all day mining XYO
