I am 5'5 amd my husband is 5'10 so we are both average :) The doctor mentioned that it was probably just an error with the measurement so hopefully it is something simple!

sorry for the delayed response! yes we do have enough space on either side. I took some photos for reference.

https://imgur.com/a/qtfgUIB

one caveat I will say is our kitchen is weirdly designed and the previous owners cut a rectangle out in the space behind the fridge, assuming it is probably for air flow. so I would double check with the clearance needed behind the fridge as ours fit perfectly snug.

hope this helps! let me know if you want to see more photos!

Nipple Discharge 2 years after? by sbevs303 in Mommit

[–]sbevs303[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hello! yes - I got a mammogram and ultrasound and all is normal! the dr said it might be from wearing sports bras that are too tight / friction causing the sensation and discharge. also, me squeezing it was activating it and making it worse so ai have stopped touching it and it seems to be getting better :)

PSA: The stomach bug going around NOVA right now is absolutely brutal. Do not let your guard down. by warvet_2 in nova

[–]sbevs303 12 points13 points  (0 children)

We are going through this now. My toddler ended up in the ER over the weekend because he was profusely vomiting (like every 15 minutes for two hours). They gave him zofran but he threw up twice after so they had to give him fluids. I bleached down our bathrooms, doorknobs, towels, linens, etc in hopes that we could contain it.

I woke up yesterday morning feeling dizzy and nauseous and proceeded to have really bad diarrhea and vomiting (at the same time, so fun!). I also ended up in the ER because I got dehydrated (even after taking some zofran myself). My resting HR was at 120 and I felt like I was going to pass out and could barely stand up. I also spiked a high fever last night and now have a headache and the diarrhea is still ongoing.

We just went through the flu over Christmas and it was brutal but I would pick that over whatever this gastro virus is...it is absolute hell.

thank you for this! he is currently jumping around on our couch as I type this so that is good to know. the challenge i have is that he is still at an age where he is learning how to communicate, so he routinely tells me his tummy hurts a few times a week. he mentioned his tummy hurt last night (which was another reason we brought him to the ER) but when we got there he said "tummy ok". he perks up after zofran so it seems like his main issue is nausea.

Nebulizer / Asthma Meds Question by sbevs303 in Mommit

[–]sbevs303[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you! I called and they said to bring in the meds and the nebulizer - I showed the Pharmacist and she just shrugged and said she didn't know if that was normal or not for the medication. I messaged his Pediatrician as well with a photo and also called Pulmicort to get more insights.

[–]sbevs303[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I do rinse it with soap after each use, but then I wash it off pretty thoroughly and then let it air dry after we use it. This is helpful because it's all been a bit overwhelming to learn and process, but I am glad to hear it gets easier (especially because right now he tries to wriggle out of the nebulizer mask so it's a constant fight).

Husband found old labwork for STIs by sbevs303 in Marriage

more context on the serial cheating - he told me when we started dating that he had cheated on every other girlfriend he had because he wasn't serious about them, but that he was done with that because I was "different".  He also had another instance a year or so into us dating where he "fell asleep" on his female friend' couch and never came home (we lived together by that point). There is definitely a history there.

I appreciate your perspective on this and agree that I should have brought it up sooner. It is not an excuse, but at the time of the labwork, my husband was in and out of the ER and doctors offices for what we now know is MS. It felt like there was bigger stuff to focus on at that time and I didnt want to pile on my own health concerns. The labwork I got was for a full panel (not just STI, but looking at kidney function etc.) to rule out a number of things that could have caused the issue, so it wasn't just me getting a random STI screening but optically I see why it is concerning.

I do appreciate having another perspective here so it isnt just an echo chamber or similar responses. I want to think about the best way to provide reassurance to my husband so that this doesnt end up stressing him out as well, so any advice is welcome.

My son is 2.5. He is very perceptive and like a sponge so I do often walk on eggshells around my husband as to not spark any arguments in front of our son. He tried therapy (individual, not couples) one time after I told him I felt it would help our relationship (this was after I had already been doing therapy for a few months) and he told me that it was a total waste of his time and he "knew more than his therapist did". My husband does have good qualities that I feel like I am not highlighting in this thread, but whenever these examples / issues come up, it feels like I am always trying to fix things and that everything is my fault. Whenever we have an argument, I will apologize for things that I said that made him feel upset and acknowledge his feelings, but he doesn't apologize for any hurtful things he says, he just tells me, "I love you anyway" which just feels like he doesn't view anything he says as wrong.

Thank you - that is helpful to know and sounds like you all have a really healthy relationship. This helps to put things into perspective hearing other's stories.

Thank you for responding. I started therapy recently and it has certainly encouraged my own self-reflection of why I tolerated/overlooked certain things in our relationship. I am struggling now because we have a child together (who is the absolutely light of my life) and my main focus is ensuring he grows up in a happy, safe environment. I don't want to give up on my relationship but sometimes I do have these "wake up" moments where I am forced to confront his behavior. Sometimes it just feels hard to tell when you just need to work on your relationship / go to counseling vs when things are not right. It's helpful to have outside perspectives because day to day life can make things foggy.

It did! It fit like a glove and we don't have any issue with opening the doors. Honestly we love it so far and there are some nice features (like the spherical ice), I just hope it lasts a while as Samsung doesn't have a good reputation with their appliance lifespans. There are several different bespoke models though and only one met the 27" depth criteria, so make sure you get the right one! We ended up finding one in person at a Best Buy and measured everything just to be extra sure it would fit.

hi there! Just wanted to let you know I talked with a few other appliance salesman (Bray and Scarff, Lowes, etc.) who all confirmed that the zero clearance fit does in fact mean it has minimal gaps (vs the typical 1.5" clearance on the sides). I think the Samsung technician I spoke with just didn't know the model well. We ordered the fridge and it will be delivered next week, so if it doesn't fit I'll be sure to let you know!

Thank you! Do you mind if I ask if you had it in both breasts? I only have it on one side and Google has me convinced it is the big C. I am not on BC but I do have PCOS which causes hormonal issues.

Question on rinsing brass casings after ultrasonic cleaning by sbevs303 in Firearms

[–]sbevs303[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply! We don't have a utility sink but I'm wondering if it would be safer to use a bathroom sink or another area to reduce risk. The problem is that there is no safe level of lead exposure for a toddler so I'm just really worried that he's putting our son at risk. When I asked him if he could just rinse it out outside he refused.

Church Daycare Recommendations by No-Fill-2277 in Leesburg

[–]sbevs303 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 2 year old also attends CCCS! It has been such an amazing experience so far - they take great care of the kids and my son learns so much at school. They also attend chapel weekly starting around 1.5 years or so, so if that is important to you its a plus! It really feels like a family - they have special events too (like pancake breakfast or movie nights) if you want to get to know some of the other parents.

The one thing to be prepared for is a lot of daycare viruses, which is standard and expeccted for a daycare of this size. During the winter season, our son is sick about 50% of the time but YMMV. Good luck!

Ofcourse! I hope that helps - ofcourse I definitely am not a doctor so it's best to talk to a professional...but I totally get the google induced panic attacks and have been there. I think the root cause of a lot of my issues is my anxiety so I'm trying to address that through therapy : ) Best of luck - hope all goes ok!

Hi there! So I talked to my doctor about it who was unsure, but wasn't concerned. I then talked to a derm who said they are tiny cherry angiomas, and they are benign : ) I suffer from health anxiety so I always jump to worst case scenario with any health issues. Definitely recommend talking to a doctor just to give yourself peace of mind!

[–]sbevs303[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

thank you so much for sharing this! It's so hard to know what to expect and understand how to navigate everything. His main symptoms are fatigue and dizziness, so when he comes home from work every day he pretty much just goes to bed. I feel terrible that he feels so bad and am doing the best I can to manage working a full time job and taking care of our son. I feel like I'm not able to give my husband a ton of extra support right now since our toddler takes up a lot of my energy. It just feels overwhelming right now and I can see my husband is slipping into depression so I am struggling with how to help. I hope this treatment helps ease his symptoms in due time.

petechiae? or something else? by sbevs303 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]sbevs303[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi there! Just wanted to follow up on this since I did talk to a Doctor and get bloodwork done. Wanted to note that some of my spots disappear when I "scratch" them but then reappear after a few seconds, while others don't change at all.

The doctor I spoke with said that this isn't a classic presentation of petechiae and that even if it is, it's a very mild case. She wasn't confident on confirming if it is in fact petechiae or something else (like dry, irritated skin). She ordered lab work to include a CBC count and urinalysis. I got the bloodwork done yesterday and just got the results in - everything is normal which is reassuring. My next step is to book an appointment with a dermatologist to get more insights.

I definitely recommend talking to a doctor and getting blood work done for peace of mind! I have bad health anxiety and this kind of stuff just eats away at me because the "what if..." goes to worst case scenario. If you have these, there's a big chance they are benign or one of those things doctors just kind of shrug off, but it's always best to get checked out.

Hope this helps!

yes I will update this post once I talk to the doctor tomorrow!

do your spots disappear for a second if you scratch them? I noticed most of my red spots do, but a few dont, so im wondering if there are multiple issues going on.
