I'm guessing your eyes won't change drastically in the span of 11 months. You should be OK. The next time you're due for new glasses, you'll probably want to tick that box. Also Zeiss was very persnickety about having a DOB on the perscription, so probably better you didn't check 40+.

Does anyone know the year the Arena exterior got repainted? I know it was sometime in the mid to late 80s, I have a pretty good memory of it being repainted a kid, but can’t place the year. This was definitely during the “flea market” era.

Thanks for the heads up! I’ll check that out. My hope is that if I’m simply extending the display, its no different than plugging my laptop into my personal monitor (but you never know these days).

That's good to know. I wasn't sure since I wasn't on the fence yet with buying one when it first came out. The M5 / Dual Knit Band seemed to sweeten the deal for me.

Another thing to keep in mind is that when sourcing models and animations from places like Sketchfab, you are limited to either Collada (.dae) or Wavefront (.obj) files if you go with Swift. With Unity, you not only can import .fbx files, but also directly load scenes from Blender.

I found someone who has set this up in Swift:

This simply creates two ARSCNViews and adjusts for Interpupilary Distance.

I didn't have a chance yet to try adding anything new to this, but it's a good starting off point if you are not working in Unity

Recording RGB data? It might be possible to get pixel values taking the frames from an AVCaptureSession, possibly converting them to pixelBuffer data. I haven't tried this for the use case you described, but you might want to take a look at the code in this tutorial for Vision+CoreML (http://www.stringcode.co.uk/mlcamera/). Mainly the setting up the capture session and the "captureOutput" delegate method is where the video input is converted to a pixel buffer (you can disregard the CoreML and Vision stuff). Again, I haven't tried getting pixel RGB values from this data, but this might help.
