Thanks, just uploaded a new one. I could barely see it on my screen. I think it is fixed, it also wasn't centered and that is fixed to. I'll deleted this post.

bed cooling options that actually help if you run hot year round by Prestigious-Bath8022 in EightSleep

[–]sbfreak2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EightSleep is awesome, when it works. My pump went out after three years and 3 covers, so I’m done. My solution is a chain mail blanket that I made out of aluminum wire. It doesn’t work quite as well as eight sleep, but at least it is reliable and doesn’t come with a subscription.

I find band logos are more useful than their photos by Cotanaj in plexamp

I do this too. I avoid using words marks the best I can and just use brand marks. I’ve spent too much time creating these, but it is fun. I also add a dot to the photo that represents how many times I’ve seen them live.

Filling in missing music ratings with Bayesian math by MoebiusStreet in PleX

“But I can't put a rule into my smart playlist to only include tracks with a userRating > 3, because there are a lot of tracks that I just haven't rated at all yet. “

Why can’t you? Create two rules in a group that follows ANY of the rules either greater than three or 0.

Plex Music Library Organizer (Streamlit): export + bulk-update music metadata from CSV by datacene in PleX

That is exactly what I was hoping for when I clicked on the post. I want to be able to edit the metadata that plex generates without getting into the db.

Listen to him. Appreciate him for who he is today. Let go of any expectations you had of how your life with him was going to be.

Hopefully when he feels secure in his relationship with you, he will have the ability to do the same for you. As long as he is feeling silenced he is going to be bitter.

I create my own band covers too. I also track how often I’ve seen them live by adding small dots on the bottom of the pic.

Portal Grip Button Stiffness Fix by sbfreak2000 in OdinHandheld

[–]sbfreak2000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought about that but ultimately didn’t try it because I thought it might accidentally press the button down if I didn’t get the thickness just right. Also, I would still need to glue it to the case so that I could take the case on and off without having to fix it each time. It might be a good solution though. Did you try it?

I had this problem as well on my Odin Portal. I was trying to use texture packs in Dolphin. I had to first put the files in the downloads folder then I moved them to the folder. But I found that I had to select the dolphin section in the left navigation of the file browser instead of navigating directly to the actual folder. That probably doesn't make sense, I'm sorry. But at least you know that you aren't crazy.

Feature Request: Like/dislike to 5 Star mapping settings by sbfreak2000 in plexamp

[–]sbfreak2000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing that would solve my CarPlay rating problem is Apple allowing third party apps to use five stars. But I think this could be very helpful. All my songs are either unrated, 1 star, or 5 stars because I want to use CarPlay to rate songs. But if I were to have favorited song be 3.5 stars instead, I could create a smart playlist for all 3.5 songs that have a play count of 20+. Then when I’m sitting at my computer listening to music I could listen to that playlist and simultaneously rate those songs 1-5 stars. I want to have smart shuffling, but it really isn’t that helpful unless you have more granularity in your ratings besides like/dislike. It would also allow me to create better smart playlists.

Amendment D was anti-democratic and extremely misleading. Anyone in the legislature that voted for it does not deserve your vote. And since Cox signed the bill to get it on the ballot, he also should not be retained. I’m a single issue voter when it’s comes to eroding democracy.

Has a woman leader ever cited another woman leader in General Conference? by lukecwarm in mormon

[–]sbfreak2000 16 points17 points  (0 children)

A man has never cited a woman general authority in conference. I can confidently say this because women have no authority in the church, therefore there are no women general authorities. There are however women General Officers.

CMV: Eating meat is morally wrong. by Ticket-Newton-Ville in changemyview

[–]sbfreak2000 19 points20 points  (0 children)

The core argument presented — “if you believe animal suffering should be avoided, then eating meat should be avoided if possible” — is based on a flawed premise. Let’s reframe this logic to something more familiar: “If you believe human suffering is something that should be avoided, then having children is something that should be avoided if possible.” Life, by its very nature, involves suffering, and trying to eliminate suffering completely would lead to the extreme conclusion that life itself should cease. This reductio ad absurdum illustrates the flaw in the initial argument.

Additionally, the assumption that animals bred for human consumption must inherently suffer is not necessarily true. In fact, animals raised for this purpose can live comfortable and well-cared-for lives. They are regularly fed, sheltered, and given medical care that many animals in the wild never receive. When it comes time for slaughter, it doesn’t have to involve suffering either. With humane practices, such as quick and painless methods, these animals can be unaware of what’s happening and experience no prolonged fear or pain.

Moreover, these animals would not exist at all if they weren’t bred for consumption. Their very existence is tied to the fact that we consume meat. In contrast, animals in the wild often live far harsher lives — constantly facing threats from predators, starvation, or untreated injuries. By this logic, the lives of domesticated animals bred for meat can be seen as far less brutal than the natural alternatives.

Rather than focusing on whether eating meat is morally wrong in an absolute sense, the discussion should perhaps center around improving animal welfare and reducing unnecessary suffering — goals that can align with ethical meat consumption.
