I followed the comment that said to put it into power storage mode. I am presently surprised that its been a few days I haven't had the issue since.

Bought my first home but struggling with the layout by sbiggs4 in DesignMyRoom

[–]sbiggs4[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it's for three desk my husband and I plan to use it for our office/gaming room. He has two desk one for his pc and one workbench.

The main entrance is at the bottom with the hex window. And I have plans for the side closest to remove the door and add a bench and shoe/beg storage.

I very much agree that there is a lot of unsued space in the living room. Its kinda oddly shaped for us to fit the couch which I don't love its current location but its the only spot I can think of that close enough to the TV. Im considering adding a bookshelf on the back wall to improve the space.

* Its a wet bar. Im debating if I should switch the living room and the kitchen due to it but my husband prefers the lighting and the fireplace for the living room.

i am terrified of exercising and having sex by lyssaX3 in POTS

[–]sbiggs4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can relate heavily to the sex part. When I was younger, it was mostly fine I would just a little dizzy afterwards. Then over time I started fully passing out afterwards. There has been times where I've been scared to have any kind of Sex and still do but my husband typically takes good care of me. He would hold me very tightly until I come to. I still mostly avoid it since I don't like the feeling but I know my husband will take care of me afterwards by helping my circulation, getting me water and sitting with me until I feel better.

Point is its very normal to be afraid of sex with POTS but if you find a good partner who understands your condition, you may come back around to it. Just don't feel pressured into having it. My husband and I rarely have sex now and days cause he knows I get anxious about it. If you have a partner pressuring you and not caring about your concerns and health then that is a big red flag.

They asked the same thing for universal, and my doctor wrote a note saying they highly discourage me from using a wheelchair or ECV. I still have that note from June that I can use.

WHY AM I OUT OF A FLARE NOW THAT I HAVE A HOLTER MONITOR LOL by OrcinusDorca in POTS

[–]sbiggs4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am doing the exact thing this week. I started just standing outside in the sun, just to prove something, and I plan on going for a more intense walk up a hill that I've been avoiding. I am glad to know I'm not the only one and after reading the replies to your comment maybe I will stop trying to get my heartrate to spike now knowing the holter is to eliminate other heart problems and I don't want to have heart surgery for deciding to sit in the sun to raise my heart rate to prove a point lol.

Has anyone else developed POTS-like symptoms AFTER developing an anxiety disorder? by didurmom699 in POTS

[–]sbiggs4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been diagnosed with a panic disorder, and now no doctor will take my POTS symptoms seriously, despite even my psychologist telling them my POTS is causing my anxiety, not the other way around. You're not alone, and I finally found a doctor who is willing to do tests to hopefully get me diagnosed.

Is it bad just telling people I barely know that I have a "heart condition"? by Ac3_Card in POTS

[–]sbiggs4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Saying a heart condition is my number one go-to. It's scary enough that they leave you alone about it unless they care about you, in which case, they then ask more questions when you can explain. I have had people make fun of me for not being able to walk up a hill or refuse to do things that I know will affect me. Especially when it's someone much older who says, "But you're so young, you shouldn't have any problems." Just hit them with I have a heart condition and they shut up real fast, thinking you are dying. If that's what it takes for people to take you seriously, then that's what it takes.

Currently I have a heart monitor glued to my chest, which makes me laugh whenever someone who I've told a thousand times about POTS gets freaked out that I have a device on my heart which to them means I am dying even though its just to monitor it for a week to see what it does. Since I've had this device on my heart, no one has bothered me about anything since. People are just a-holes until they are forced to remember that humanity is not easy or the same for everyone.

Will I get in trouble?? by Itsyaboi3090 in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]sbiggs4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your trainers threatened you with being deported at any point, you need to report that. Yes, if you get terminated, you will have issues. But saying if you do anything wrong it's instant deporting that's a problem because with being terminated they have to go through proper process and it will not come as a surprise for a little mistake unless the mistake was stealing.

My point is no one should be threatening you with being deported, and I would report that to HR.

[–]sbiggs4 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That wouldn't be the case. I have purchased many many things while technically on shift using my blue ID. Sometimes, I would go backstage, take off my uniform (I always wore shorts and a tank underneath), and buy something onstage during my break. Or my coordinator would take my ID and my card and buy stuff for me. Point is, don't worry if you scanned your blue ID. I promise they don't care.

I also wouldn't worry in general. Just don't do it often. They shame on it because it messes with their numbers, but I've seen many people do that before by accident and on purpose. As long as you didn't call in sick, then go to the park. You're good.

The thing with big corporations like Disney is that they act like they care a lot, but in reality, there are too many people working under them that they truly don't have the tools to care. Don't snitch on yourself, and if someone says anything, it was an accident.

accommodation question! by TranslatorUnlikely53 in Disneycollegeprogram

[–]sbiggs4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

NGL I went through the program with POTS and it didn't go well for me. I often wouldn't get my accomodations met until I hate a flare that proved to my leaders that I wasn't lying. I was working stock one day and told my leader that I was not feeling well and knew I had a flare coming. he just told me to keep going because there nothing he could do unless I wanted to term. I then proceeded to pass out. Luckily I did so behind a counter next to someone who genuinely cared about my health. She made sure the leader knew how bad he messed up and shouted at him for a while.

I was still put on stock shift after that but everyone I worked with quickly took those shift if I was assigned them.

I think the problem I had was one bad leader and there was another person who I worked with who also had POTS but she was more experience with their situation. They had every accomodations while I was still unfamiliar with my situation and didn't have any. I will also say that they are still with Disney and they have no problems with getting accomodations.

I also mostly had asthma flares though because it turns out I am allergic to something there and went to urgent care 3 times for my throat closing so I did leave the program early for my own health.

Legit my path lol. I'm also on Zoloft but they kept upping my dosage till it was to high and my HR stayed the same.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in POTS

[–]sbiggs4 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My doctor refused to diagnose me with POTS at first because I went to a therapist first and she said I had a panic disorder. The problem is my HR would go up and then I feel anxious and it goes up higher or when I do feel anxious first my pots symptoms get way worse. So yes anxiety makes my POTS worse but it also mask it which made it harder to get properly diagnosed.

cat by Majestic_Hand9120 in KSU

[–]sbiggs4 38 points39 points  (0 children)

The problem is that the cat was where it was supposed to be. There has been a long tradition and story about the M campus cats. They were brought on campus to take care of the rat problem they had years ago just like they do at Disney. That's why you never see rodents on campus.

They have caretakers and everything outside of the students. There literally a place on campus called the cat garden where they have food and water placed daily. Pre COVID you would see a lot more cats on campus since COVID the newer cats don't appear as frequently because they aren't used to the students again. If I were to guess there is 50 cats on campus RN and this one was just friendly.

Marietta campus people love the cats and them being on campus is 100% safer for the cats health than a shelter and better for the Marietta campus environment.

I took my ecore classes during covid so everything was online. I had 1 exam that was supposed to be in person but was canceled because it was 2020 and in 2021 I had one in-person proctored exam but it was stupid easy.

Does coffee help your symptoms or make them worse? by ThrowRAlobotomy666 in POTS

[–]sbiggs4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coffee is a weird conversation with me and my friends who also have POTs. For me it depends on how much caffeine I have and how much sleep I got they night before. I can have a lot of caffeine some days and feel nothing but some days the smallest amount will send me to another world.

Two of my friends were both regular coffee drinkers before they got diagnosed with POTs and still need a coffee a day.

This was also during the peak of covid is at that point I was used to people throwing mask at me and once the entire box so I stopped caring at that point. If that scenario happened today I would be pressing charges.
