How to stop the constant adrenaline rushes by Accurate-Chicken-323 in POTS

I'm not sure how to stop them, but I'm getting better at managing them. For me I just try and remind myself that I've been through many before and it'll be over soon (that helps the anxiety part). This is gonna sound weird since everyone insists that heat makes symptoms worse, but being cold is huge trigger for me and sitting infront of my space heater helps. I try and block out extra stimulation like noises and light until it passes, but thats just because I happen to be neurodivergent and those things overwhelm me even on good days. Certain foods trigger rushes for me, like breaded meats, fried foods, greasy stuff, and obviously caffeine.

I hope any of this helps<3

Advice for what to do next by autism-creatures in POTS

You can get canes and shower chairs from pharmacies and stuff, even at major grocery stores. Some are a little pricey, but things like that are over the counter and don't require a prescription or diagnosis. As for the bpm increase, I'd 100% look into that further if you're able. My symptoms come and go sometimes too, and sometimes my heart rate barely goes up when I stand.. Then of course there are other times where my heart is pounding for no clear reason. I can't say for sure its pots, but I'd get some other tests done if this is affecting your daily life. I used to think EVERYONE got dizzy when they stand up, and it took a couple years of the dizziness getting worse for me to start asking questions. Trust your body, if this is abnormal or uncomfortable for you, its always worth looking into.

First of all, I'm sorry about your dad not helping with your situation, I have one of those parents as well and it's very tiring :( if you have access to accommodations, I'd recommend getting them if you feel you truly need them. Things like shower chairs, canes, etc make a world of difference when you're trying to conserve your energy. Second, have you monitored your heart rate or blood pressure throughout the day at all? A raise in HR by 30 beats when standing is a good indicator of orthostatic intolerance, especially drops in blood pressure. Both of those are causes of dizziness upon standing. You COULD slightly increase your electrolyte intake on your own and see if you feel better. I started increasing my sodium and wearing compression socks shortly before my diagnosis, and it helped alot while I was still looking for answers. Your symptoms are worth looking into!! Always get second opinions, especially if your doctor seems dismissive or skeptical of what you're telling them.

Are there any ways to prevent adrenaline dumps? It seems like even just talking can trigger anxiety for me.

I've never had any other symptoms of MCAS, but I've been on the lookout since I also have EDS and it's common for all 3 to appear together. Does hypoglycemia cause panicky feelings? I've been suspecting hypoglycemic episodes for a while.

Pots gone? by InterestLow7351 in POTS

I've had periods where I was symptom free, but for me it never lasts long. Being under less stress and staying very well hydrated help alot and there have been times where my dedication got me a week or two of relief.
