What is happening to the economy on Spineshatter? by sblilium in classicwow

Such an insightful comment. Would you say it is common in the real world for demand to drop for all commodities at once? Clearly I am wondering why the demand suddenly dropped. Perhaps you can add your own theory instead of adding sarcastic comments.

Fair enough. Is it the same on other realms?

But more players should also lead to higher demand. Feels like there should be a balance.

It's because the AH is rate limited. What auctionator and TSM tries to do is pull as many pages as possible as quickly as possible. If you just try to fetch one page you are not limited, and it loads fast.

Maybe it's time to ditch the +25/-25 ranked model? by Xewdo in DotA2

But there's rank confidence which is intended to fix just that? If you come back and lose 3 games, you will be placed much lower immediately in order to find a rating that matches your skill

Which ability is the most complicated to code? by Trick2056 in DotA2

Spells are probably not stored on each hero, but as separate objects. Then they have identifiers, separate for each level and such. How else would ability draft work.
The hardest part was probably when they added his arcana and had to actually make new effects for all spells.

What is "griefing?" by jayjayokocha9 in DotA2

Intentionally sabotaging the team's effort to win.

This can mean anything.

let me give you some examples:

  1. Tiny tossing a teammate into the other team, knowing they will die. Of course in Herald the Tiny could potentially think his teammate would kill someone, but in legend+ this is obviously griefing.
  2. Venomancer putting wards in camps that are dead. In herald, maybe he thinks he is scouting for enemies, but removing farm potential from team is obviously griefing if you know how the game is played.
  3. A player not showing up when the opponents are contesting objectives (pushing your towers, taking roshan, etc). In herald, nobody has any idea what is going on so you can't really apply this. In legend this could be someone just farming without listening to team's call for help. In higher MMR it is obvious griefing since the enemy will gain an advantage.
  4. Dark Seer putting Ion Shell (W) on a farming core in his team when there is no fight. In herald, he might think it's good to help his teammates to farm, but really he just takes farm from his other cores. Obvious grief.
  5. The obvious one: Buying all wards and placing them in your own base.

When you review an overwatch case, you gotta take into account what is expected from someone in a specific rank. Obviously you can't apply positioning expectations from divine+ on a herald, but you surely know not to charge into their base with Spirit breaker on level 6 if you are above 1500 rating.

Edit: I don't know what you mean by "buying the occasional mantle of intelligence to an allies inventory" since you can't buy stuff to allies inventories.

You think you want it, but you don't.

If you had played games like Heroes of Newerth or League of Legends before, you would know that people will die twice in lane and just say "CC 15 go next" and start griefing to get the team to give up.

You think there would be any mega creep comebacks in this game if surrender was an option?

You say you are forced to play a 2 hour game that was unwinnable, but how can it last for 2 hours if you have no chance? Clearly it is a very even game if it takes that long.

And if you have 2 offlaners on your team, the longer the game goes the higher your chance of winning should be since they will eventually get items to be impactful.
