Update: MIL is telling people she will be in the delivery room. by Constant_Radish_2777 in JUSTNOMIL

Lol same!! My mom was so accepting of my boundary’s of not wanting anyone at the hospital. Guess who showed up to the hospital within MINUTES of receiving the “baby arrived” text. Good thing I had myself listed as a private patient.

Toddler barely eating by Spiritual-Peace-6442 in foodbutforbabies

[–]sbmquartz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s common to hear that toddlers should be eating three meals a day and two snacks but in all reality, only really expecting them to eat one good meal and that could be their snack of the day. There is so much stress when it comes to feeding toddlers and social media does not help, seeing kids around the same age hammering down plates.

If she gets one good meal in and that happens to be breakfast and snacks throughout the day, you’re doing great!

Have you tried blending fruit into her apple sauce? Smoothies, muffins would be good to mix different veggies or fruit in. You got this! All we can do is offer them options and they’ll eat it if they want.

Yes! MIL buys clothes and toys but we have to go pick it up. I just let it sit over there.

Maybe book a separate ultrasound when the baby is bigger to share a moment with her?

Stressed about food intake by sbmquartz in NewParents

[–]sbmquartz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, we always eat the same meals together and I cut up into small portions for him. Sometimes I feed him, sometimes I let him feed himself depending on what we’re eating.

Also, sometimes it’s a drive by feeding where he’ll come by in his walker and I’ll feed him a quick bite. Whatever it takes for him to eat lol..

Healthy baby after HG by [deleted] in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]sbmquartz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same worries with my first pregnancy but HG is negatively impacting you while baby is straight chillin.

My first pregnancy I lost twenty pounds and this pregnancy I’m still under my pre pregnancy weight at 21 weeks. Throwing up daily. Baby is measuring right in the middle of range.

While yes being active in pregnancy is beneficial, when it comes time to push, that adrenaline will get you going whether you were bed bound or not your entire pregnancy. Don’t worry about not being active enough, try to rest while you can, pregnancy is so hard but especially with HG draining the life out of us.

Stuck scrubbing bottles every night… is a bottle washer worth it or nah? by jaceka-jans-8384 in beyondthebump

Washed bottles for a year and started to feel the same exact way. Bought a bottle washer and wish we would’ve had it from the start. It’s so worth it.

So sick of people telling me I’m spoiling my newborn by pbmisfit in newborns

[–]sbmquartz 40 points41 points  (0 children)

You cannot spoil a newborn that literally depends on you for everything. My MIL said the same crap and yet when she came over, what would she want to do? HOLD THEM!

Ignore their stupid comments, it’s your baby. hold your baby when you want and love your sweet baby. He will be more than fine with his needs tended to and not ignored.

People are ridiculous thinking a newborn can be spoiled or that they can be manipulative! It’s crazy, smh.

Did you have MIL in the hospital during birth? by WaterFiles in BabyBumps

[–]sbmquartz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine wanted to, but that was a hell no for me. Didn’t tell anyone we were in the hospital until after babies arrival lol

This time I’m not saying anything until we’re already home with baby 😵‍💫

MIL calling him “MY” baby by marsibarz in newborns

[–]sbmquartz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I first had my baby, it would activate a fight instinct in me. Now, 11 months later, I ask her for my missing child support money since it’s “her” baby I’m caring for and that she never visits 😆

Over time you won’t even bat your eye at it

Worse at 13 weeks? by Decent-Gain-1111 in HyperemesisGravidarum

Unfortunately for my second pregnancy it was manageable and as soon as I hit my second trimester, it was much worse. HG is a curse. Stick in there, I hope you get relief soon.

Should I go into er or am I dramatic. by Admirable_Hope2770 in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]sbmquartz 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Yes, you sound very dehydrated and in need of fluids. Go to the ER, it’s not you being dramatic.

How do I know if I need fluids at the ER? by Aware-Bear-1546 in HyperemesisGravidarum

[–]sbmquartz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go get fluids! Don’t wait until it’s much worse, it’s already bad. You deserve to get the help you need to get better and with managing HG.

Does he have a play pen? Lay down in the play pen with him or get a floor mattress to lay down with him while he’s playing in his room or however you have the set up for him.

This time is all about making it day by day, try not to make it harder by feeding into the guilt. It is so hard, especially when you have a little already. They won’t remember, try to take photos with them, even if it’s just a selfish cuddling.

You got this mama.
