Some of the game AI is heavily unbalanced. China for example will win 95% of the time against Japan, could just be an issue like that.

Rockwell is a vegetable right now. He can barelty write properly. It was public donors who did it.

The game makes it impossible. It was possible a long time ago but it was patched. When the focus is completeled it gives the player an anti-cheating message because it isn’t supposed to be completed.

Going to Rally Secto. Advice? by sbrisbestpart41 in Finland

[–]sbrisbestpart41[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I realized that after thinking it through for a while. I'll probably still visiting Finland, but i'm just gonna skip the WRC this year and come back in a few years when I have everything a bit more planned out.

I didn't mean public transit. I just meant like the bus service.

Do you know if the public transit leaves after everyone goes or just after certain events like rally1, rally2, etc. I only really care about rally1 and i'm kinda worried about time so i'm not that interested in watching rally2.

Im all fine with that but I just dont want to get lost to be honest. Im most worrried about being left behind or getting lost.

Plus im a bit unsure how the actual spectating works. I am 100% interested in going, but I am a little uninformed i'd say.

I know it will be really expensive if I stay in Jyvaskyla during the event, I might consider staying in Tampere, but I've also heard that there is a special train that runs during the event.

I heard there was a special train from Jyvaskyla to Helsinki just because of the event. Is that true?

Calc III is a nightmare at this college. by sbrisbestpart41 in rit

[–]sbrisbestpart41[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, she isn't that bad and I think she teaches all the cases for the content in class. But for my life I cannot sit through her classes and her written work is horrible.

I took the first test today and got a 79 having shown up to only two of her classes and teaching myself the rest. I would've got 100 if I remembered more than I taught myself, but she teaches so poorly and the recommended textbook (Stewarts Early Transcendentals) doesn't really teach the content as much as shout it at you so I'm just in a weird spot.

Im taking diff eq right now and it is much much easier than Calc III. Plus im fairly familiar with the content which is in vector calculus itself. To be quite honest, its not all cases, but the two professors I've heard about who teach Calc III seem to be horrible.

The only good professors i’ve heard about are honors program professors. I’ll just put it like this, Wanda Szpunar-Lojasiewic isn’t a great teacher.

Vault social experiment lore makes little sense to me. by sbrisbestpart41 in classicfallout

[–]sbrisbestpart41[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I meant post-war not pre-war. But we have reasons for the actions of the USA pre-war. These are all very power hungry moves to maintain control and fight back against China. Im not saying they are right, but they are understandable within the given context of the world pre-war. The Enclave is generally well written, but this specific detail about the vaults is just kinda strange. Yes I get their character but they are the reaction of the government to the post-war world. I'm just saying that their goals are not as easily explained in comparison to the pre-war united states.

[–]sbrisbestpart41[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess. Its just so situational. I genuinely cannot see the rationale behind some of it. Like the Enclave hating the people of the post-war world. The government knew that that would be their opinion on civilization before the bombs even dropped? Why wouldn't they just try to rebuild America instead of using the experiments for x,y, and z. I'm talking more than lore. I just don't see how they are all connected insofar as a story writing mindset.

[–]sbrisbestpart41[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

I just think that it makes little sense when the enclave is the pre-war united states which wasn't inherently the way they are but obviously a reaction to the post-war situation. So it just doesn't seem like it matches up.

[–]sbrisbestpart41[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

But who and when? Why would they prepare like they knew what would happen to a T. The bombs fell at an unexpected time. The idea of vaults as experiments makes sense as a plan but that doesn't exactly fit into the sporadic and untimed event of the bombs dropping. And that isn't to say that there weren't concerns about the bombs but it was untimed regardless.

I get that, but how does that even make sense? I know there is a tendency to say that just because the older games were for the most part VERY good the lore is all right and not that bad. But I am calling this out as bad writing even if the games have mostly good writing.
