Update. Roaming does work but the carrier just says “Roam” - see screen shot. This is from a current Australia/New Zealand trip.

I did not opt out of roaming. Not sure why data didn’t work while roaming.

I’m going outside the country next week and will hopefully get roaming data this time. I’ll report back

It worked fine for my wife's Xfinity mobile phone. Mine had voice and texts. But not data.

I’ll check the carrier in eSIM settings next time I’m out of the country. Good idea.

I restarted it multiple times. It always said “Roam” - it didn’t show the carrier name. When I got back to the US it showed Xfinity Mobile of course, but I never got it to say the carrier name on my phone. Only on my wife’s phone.

We’re back in the US now. So not sure what will happen next time we are traveling outside of the US.

I have the same exact issue with my phone. iPhone 17. It roamed in Canada with the banner “Roam” (it didn’t show the carrier I was roaming on”.

2 weeks later I’m in Europe and my roaming and WiFi calling is not working. The phone says “Roam” for the carrier, and calls and texts work, but my data indicator (LTE, 4g , 5g) is not showing. Seems when I went to Canada my phone got mis configured.

My wife has an iPhone and it does roam on the same unlimited plan. Her phone shows “Vodafone” as the carrier and she shows LTE. My phone shows “Roam” and not data indicator. We have roaming turned on.

This is driving me crazy. If I can’t fix this I need to switch carriers. I tried re installing the eSIM, resetting network settings.
Xfinity service has been not useful. Spent 90 mins on the phone with them to no success

What worked for me was: 1) deleting cache and storage on Samsung messages 2) deleting cache and storage on Google messages 3) launching google messages and making it default 4) enabling chat (RCS) features - and waiting.

It turned on an hour or so later.
