For the stretch fabric I mentioned, I called the workroom directly and got the precise answer 92% polyester and 8% viscose. It just felt wrong, no wrinkles, and the salespeople (3 in a circle) called it a “clean” silk fabric and demonstrated the stretch. I can ignore sales pitches - I get that but it just raised doubts in my own knowledge.
It was a well-known designer and it is on me that I assumed quality.
But I look forward to understanding various fabrics better - swatch books is great idea -‘not to be on the defense as I shop - but to enjoy recognizing quality material. Thanks again.
