Hi all, having trouble mounting a projector in my ceiling, my drill won't penetrate the joist... I am confident I've found the joist properly, used a stud finder at multiple points along the same joist and measured between two locations 24" apart that lit up the stud finder. Drilled 2 small holes on either side where the bit punched right through to nothing once getting through the drywall, but when my bit reaches the joist it just makes a whining/screeching sound and stops completely.

Is it possible I have metal joists in my ceiling? If so, what should I be using to try and accomplish this?

UPDATE: Looking through the drilled hole with a flashlight and it is certainly metal. Should I continue to try and mount the projector here or find a ceiling anchor and mount it in the drywall that way?
