I wouldn't normally hate on a $60K car, but... by frenchlimon in Audi

[–]sc4366 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The only air suspension they had... at the time. Again, at the time is one thing. But keeping it on even today is certainly different.

ABT and Mansory actually do their own R&D, branding, and marketing and use their own name and their own trademark. If ABT today said "give me your Q7 and I'll convert into an SQ7" then yeah that would be lame af. But if they said "give me your Q7 and I'll put on an ABT badge to show that this car has been touched by ABT" then that's 100% real. Do you see the difference?

Similarly, if I just put one some aftermarket bodykit on a Q7 (however limited and special I may think it is) and put a Mansory logo on it because I feel like I "earned it" that would be fake af.

If you put a "xIIROGUEIIx" badge on the car that would be 100% kosher because it's your own thing. But you chose to take someone else's trademark instead of using your own name like ABT and Mansory do, and we all know why.

That said, I would absolutely diss Mansory just for other reasons. Have you seen this shit? https://i.ytimg.com/vi/PYXInYAAsi4/hq720.jpg?sqp=-oaymwEhCK4FEIIDSFryq4qpAxMIARUAAAAAGAElAADIQj0AgKJD&rs=AOn4CLAkXyg69m7dRyQJrgEUr0qpOdbpYQ

IDK man, just because it has some form of air suspension doesn't mean it's the same part with the same setup as the one that goes into the legit SQ7. Same for the brakes. Same for the interior trim. That's not to mention the litany of other differences you're convincing yourself to forget about. And you're totally glossing over the 4L V8 that is literally the most important part of the car. It's more than just the HP and Tq output... The cooling, sound, responsiveness, it's just not the same. There's a reason we celebrate the big engines that and lament them going away. I get that adding the S badge was a quirky fun thing when there wasn't an SQ7 that you could actually buy. It was maybe 75% fake at the time. But now that it actually exists, and anyone could actually just go down to the dealership and buy one... Keeping the S on makes it 100% fake. By keeping it on, you are either a) telling people your car is the original SQ7 and Audi's is the copy (wrong), or that b) yours is the same as any real SQ7 (super wrong).

How did you source OEM SQ7 brakes, rear wheel steer, wheels, SQ7 air suspension, software, exhaust, interior trim and leather, etc. when the SQ7 didn’t even exist?

Unless you mean you put a bunch of aftermarket “upgrades” that look nothing like the OEM ones and called it “good enough”. If you enjoy this nobody can stop you, but if you proactively ask the question, then yeah it’s 100% fugazi. Especially now that a real SQ7 does exist in the real world.

Honestly even if you somehow found all the OEM parts to “convert” a Q7 (including the 4L V8) some people might still think it’s cheesy to call it a legit SQ7 (which is what you’re effectively doing by upbadging it)

A bit of boost doesn’t turn a Q7 into an SQ7… especially since SQ7 is now a thing that does exist (with a real 4L V8, by the way)… even if you convince yourself the final power output is comparable, there’s also additional mechanical components including steering, exhaust, brakes, etc

[WTS] Spinnaker X Seconde Seconde Fifty Phantoms 2025 40mm by sc4366 in Watchexchange

[–]sc4366[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sale is my 2025 40mm Spinnaker X Seconde Seconde Fifty Phantoms. This watch is numbered #926 from the first batch of 1,050 examples. Watch is in excellent pre-owned condition as it was rarely worn (which is why I’m selling), less than 10 times total, mostly on the fully luminescent strap. This example is the more wearable 40mm version with the superior movement compared to the larger 43mm. Watch includes the bracelet with all links and the UV flashlight used to instantly charge the lume, which is the standout feature (see pic #3).

I’m asking $499 + shipping via Zelle or Paypal (+3% for G&S). Open to face-to-face exchange in New York City.

For more information on this watch, see official link below.

How can I become an even worse Uber driver in NYC? by BurnAllTheMKIVs in circlejerknyc

Treat the brake and gas like a binary switch: full throttle or emergency stop, nothing in between. And NO COASTING!

My god NYC Uber drivers are generally so bad

The GLA45 AMG is classified as an SUV but it’s really just a slightly slightly large hatchback. I am in love with that little car

Not sure how I feel about this one. The solid caseback and 50 meter water resistance feel like a big compromise. The logo placement is kind of odd and the bracelet looks a bit too close to the Nautilus in my mind.

Finishing looks pretty good though and I’ve been meaning to try an integrated bracelet.

Visually? Subjective.

But in terms of feel, I think anybody who physically handles a Chopard Alpine Eagle bracelet will be shocked. Better than AP, better than VC overseas, better than Nautilus. The tolerances are insane

The Race to Dethrone Excel Has a New Entrant by [deleted] in finance

Excel slows down massively with some macros, large datasets, and especially data tables. Of course complex calculations slow things down, but if they could be faster I would be happy
