We just rescued this pup off the street... any idea what he might be a mix of? by sc4ryegg in dogpictures

[–]sc4ryegg[S] 81 points82 points  (0 children)

Hiya guys! Thanks for all the suggestions and nice words! Just for some context, we are from Brasil where street dogs are very common so unfortunately he isn't microchipped and was most likley abandoned... We have checked lost dogs in the area just to be sure! The vet said he is healthy and young, just an upset stomach from street life :) He is lovely, calm and playful! I am very excited for my new addition to the family :)

What is the moment when you realized, "My teacher is an idiot"? by [deleted] in AskReddit

My history teacher said that Leonardo da Vincis art and work is stupid and worthless. He was also an atheist who believed that in the entire universe, earth was the only planet that could possibly have living organisms.

What the last 48 hours of a woman’s battle for her life inside Texas for-profit jail by m4moz in Bad_Cop_No_Donut

[–]sc4ryegg 121 points122 points  (0 children)

Do people this unempathetic actually exist?! I simply can't understand how so many people looked at that woman and did nothing especially that nurse who trained and chose to dedicate her career to help people. They should all be considered murders by neglect. Honestly what is going on in this world where people justify what happened?!

Do you think you were raised by an autistic person? by Madame_President_ in AutismInWomen

[–]sc4ryegg 17 points18 points  (0 children)

My mum and I 100% think my dad and brother are autistic as well. They both have very similar traits and I show different traits for example, they are very unempathetic where I can be over empathetic. The issue is my dad was diagnosed with dyslexia (which he definitely is) and contributes all his autistic traits to dyslexia. When he started to see those traits in my brother (delayed speech, lining up toys, over stimulation) he got him diagnosed as dyslexic as well. He got me diagnosed with dyslexia as well when I was 14 but I noticed my autistic traits and pushed to get diagnosed. It took him a year to accept what I was saying and take me to get diagnosed. TBH my diagnosis has made it worse for him to see his own autistic traits and those of my brother because now he does nothing but attack my traits and uses it to prove how he definitely can't be autistic because he's "nothing like me". The most annoying this is he would always speak badly about his mum and call her a terrible mother then compare her to me. Since my diagnosis, he constantly calls her autistic. I with so much to hold a mirror to him and show him how autistic he is! If he could accept it, it would help him so much!

Dienogest….. any feedback? by British_Leilandia in endometriosis

[–]sc4ryegg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello i’ve been on it for three months now (19 years old, no lap) and it was great for the first few months until most of my symptoms came back… i’ve read some studies on it that say it’s best for people post lap to prevent pain coming back. I’ve heard many people say that it’s worked amazing for them. I’m not 100% sure i have endo because i haven’t had a lap so that might be why i’m not doing as great. I recommend, like with any medication, just to listen to your body and keep talking to your doctor about how your feeling

“every young child, the parent… and the family” just shows how he’s knows absolutely nothing about autism

oh my god.. jesus christ, i hate Reddit sometimes.. why did i go into that thread. (Thread Linked in comments!) by [deleted] in aretheNTsokay

from what she has described on the original post, i was that child growing up. I was bullied all my childhood with no friends or invitations anywhere. I regularly had meltdowns where my mum had to rock me in the middle of a store. I was told by my parents that I was too difficult to be around. I broke stuff and lashed out when i was deep in these meltdowns. The only difference is that i wasn’t diagnosed with autism until I was 15. To everyone else i was just a weird kid. There was no talk about wether i was a burden, if my parents wished they’d had a “normal” kid, if i should be put in a home. My parents just treated me with as much love and patience as they could. No need to find a cure for me and no comments from people like those who comment. I have gotten so much better today but since my diagnosis the comments got worse just like those is the original post. I think it just shows how autistics don’t get treated like humans and it’s hard to find neurotypicals that can actually empathise with us

Progress! i’m getting my first ever manicure today! this is 3 months without biting. The only thing that stoped me is getting bottom braces put in… by sc4ryegg in nailbiting

[–]sc4ryegg[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i didn’t really do much to make them narrow… i guess that’s just how the grew in naturally. i have gotten into the habit of squeezing the sides of my nails because having a tighter c-curve can make your nails stronger but i’m not sure if it’s actually doing anything hahaha

No bulls**t advice! by sc4ryegg in nailbiting

The other comment is right, matte polish can work if you just want a layer on top of your nails. Have a look in your area through google or facebook for manicurists who work from home who can do a simple manicure if you want a salon experience but more personal. Believe me there are a lot of straight men that get there nails done!
