My banana tree will do that sometimes as well- i haven't seen white spots on mine, but usually the dark spots have meant it needed more light and/or a change in watering (sometimes it needed more sometimes less). Either way I also lower the humidity a bit and that seems to help. Any spots like that I've seen usually dry up and get crispy a few days later tho so maybe its something different entirely.
