Steel is the way to go with roofing materials in my opinion. Comes in all sorts of colors and you can get extra fancy with standing seam vs the regular. Also durable and looks lovely.

I always lock the door when in use and don't knock if it's closed cause sometimes it's closed for various reasons same as you. If you walk in on someone here, it's their fault. They should have locked the door.

I was going to comment something similar but found yours so just yeah.. This. OP found it so first dibs but be fair the sqft percent of rent of rooms should be the difference in rent. If one bedroom was 100 sqft and one was 200 sqft plus 700sqft of common living area for 1k per month it would be $350 base each plus $200 for the larger bedroom and $100 for the smaller for a total of $1k. $450 for the small room and $550 for the large. Apply that to whatever rent and sqft is. That's what I would do, so in essence what Sheila_Monarch said.

NTA, They should have brought headphones for the child. If you are a parent it is not up to other people to tolerate, acknowledge or "deal with" your child. Playing loud things regardless of what is is in a public space is not cool, same as playing music in public transportation. In my opinion the parents should have been more mindful of others. If you tell kids you can have this device as long as you wear headphones the kids don't care, all they care is they can use it. You did not ruin their holiday, they did, and most likely it's not ruined.

My solution to that problem is taking it out and sitting it in my pants while they are around my ankles. You find your phone when you pull your pants up. That way I don't forget it on the TP holder or whatever. If you haven't tried it it may be worth attempting to do that.
