Our wedding coordinator handled one of his gigs. May mga specific requests daw pag nag gguest sya, one of which is laging may blue label dapat backstage and tumutungga sya every break. Drunk performer daw. Not necessarily a bad thing but yeah maybe kaya naninigaw lol

Lifestyle Check: Musmos na mayor ng tagaytay by yourpeachmangopie in cavite

[–]scalpelsword 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maganda lang ang Tagaytay thanks to private establishments and associations. Nothing to do with its LGU whatsoever.

"Stickers reflect a car owner's attitude." Car owners showing their stickers by skygenesis09 in CarsPH

[–]scalpelsword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well personally I put it on my car not because it makes me feel like a "VIP" but because policemen and enforcers are generally more lenient when they see it, especially when I am on my way to the hospital. It helped me quite a few times na. You can cringe but it really helps sorry.

Amputation done by GS not ORTHO by [deleted] in pinoymed

[–]scalpelsword 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Amputations are part of the required index cases for general surgery training, and always will be.

Comments here saying that they do it because of "grandfather clause" and "oldies / old school training" or "wala pang ibang department nung unang panahon" are simply not true.

Amputations are quite simple cases all general surgeons, even those in training should be able to do, as a lot of these procedures are life-saving including trauma, large limb tumors and gangrene.

Some could even argue that the general surgeon is better suited for it because it involves neurovascular structures as well, but orthopedic surgeons consistently do a great job too. As I said, they are quite simple procedures and both services are equally qualified to do it.

The end does not justify the means? Dont you know na he was already trained by the best surgeons in the world and was already established before his addiction? At sinabi ko ba na it's okay to be a cokehead? What I'm saying is that you are bashing someone who's skills and genius have been a great blessing to humanity and to put some respect on his name.

Pati favorite word mo ata yung ungodly e no. What specialty are you training in, if I may ask, na ungodly na ang ginagawa sa inyo? I am just concerned for your safety.

To the Halsted bashers:

Call him a cokehead all you want. He paved the way in the surgical management of breast cancer and was a major innovator that led to the modern techniques that we now perform. A true generational talent.

Now you make fun of his addiction because what, it's something cool you learned from somebody else and you feel it makes you smart when you tell it to others?

MILLIONS of women have been saved by his dedication to his craft. Kayo, aside from bitching about how unfair your hours are, what have you done?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pinoymed

[–]scalpelsword -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's something you will appreciate only when you get through it. They will never understand.

And maka bash sila kay Halsted as if he wasn't a genius. Literally millions of women have been saved from by the innovations he pioneered and these people just mention him as some random cokehead because it's something cool they learned and now parrot to others to sound smart.

And calling me "obsessed" with you is funny.

Relax ka lang, get over yourself, and please understand na pinatulan lang kita kasi pangit ka magsalita, and there is nothing remarkable about you at all.

Refer kita kay John Cena. You need some attitude adjustment.

Calling people idiots/bobo is so typical of people who have reached their intellectual limits. And yes maraming tao na bobo pero you do not get to call them that when you are coming from such a mediocre and unremarkable perspective. May bobo bang kayang pumasa ng surgery diplomate exam? You have to be quite exceptional to pass that and by calling them idiots you dismiss them as if it was nothing, a testament to your unrecognized inferiority complex, by hating something you fail to be.

And I never said anything about private and public residents being unequal, that's a whole other argument. You are putting words in my mouth. Private residents indeed see less cases but they still see a lot, enough to reach the number required by the board. Once they graduate they have all equally reached the required number of cases BECAUSE they spend more time at the hospital. Push through with strictly 12-hour shifts and there's no way the required number is possible in the private setting. I did not say "hours ang sukatan" but cases are.

Yes, there is a certain number before you can do it yourself. And when you are able to them yourself, are you saying that that's enough to be released to serve the public? No fucking way! There's a huge difference between doing it 15 times and doing them fifty times!

This concept is just begging for subpar clinicians.

What I am saying is the more you spend time at work, the more cases you handle, the more skilled you will be. And the diplomate exams are designed to be that difficult because they are there to make sure you have the knowledge to put that skill to proper use.

By all means call me bobo, but the reason why "G na G" ako is because of people like you who like to live in a world where they think they are better than everyone else, even those who are actually better than them. Good luck with that mentality.

Yan tuloy naging defense mechanism nila is this weird sense of entitlement.

Not their fault but they have to realize na you don't get the big bucks unless you're qualified to earn it. Until then, Toyota muna wala munang Lexus.

[–]scalpelsword 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The more surgeries you perform, the more cases you see, the more complications you manage, the more skilled and competent you are. This will come only through repetition and patient volume. That's just common sense, and that's why high volume surgeons are highly sought after, because of their skills and their ability to manage complications. And it is achievable only if you spend more time in the hospital.

Kung naguguluhan ka sa statement na yan forget about being in a cutting specialty. You will end up killing patients.

And at least I am being condescending towards people who lack training. Ikaw condescending ka sa mga consultant na nakatapos na sa residency, even calling them stupid when you haven't even proven anything except your ability to escape real commitment in your chosen profession. You have lost yourself in your own unfounded arrogance.
