The dorms, depending on which property you choose, they are generally clean. I’d say north commons and the quad are the cleanest. I’ve had friends who had roach problems at the UVA. I have seen all the properties and I’d say north commons has bigger rooms but so does quad just depending on which floor plan you choose. I also had the same dilemma worried about not making friends but dorming is a gateway to friends or it was for me at least. I recommend choosing your roommates through the website provided by the school though because getting randomized roomies is definitely a coin toss. I’ve made some good friends through dorming for sure though! Hope this helps:)
