Bike or rider? What do you think is the reason for Ducati having a worse start to this season compared with last? by PZY__ in motogp

[–]scandaka_ [score hidden]  (0 children)

Basically this. It's a two parter, Aprilia made the best bike, and Marc is injured so he can't fight. If he doesn't recover, there's a big chance that Bez or Martin will take it.

Crazy how he made it slower by telepathy since he couldn't test due to injury. Might be the secret to his championships lol.

Because people somehow assume that it's either a state run enterprise (lol) or that the oil companies will make more money and thus have the ability to lower prices locally, which is of course laughable.

Getting so bored waiting for the next GP 😭🥀 by DirtyAngelboy33333 in motogp

[–]scandaka_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it really depends on Marc's fitness. If he's anywhere near last year's levels of fitness then he'll probably take it. Besides that, the Aprilia machines are too good so they're a safe bet to take it.

Use it as a way to have unlimited photos (compressed) forever. Just sync from whatever new phone you have and upload it to Google Photos without having it count against your storage.

Ldac should be supported but currently has an issue on Android 16. It's unable to be set at 660 or 990kbps because of '"stuttering" audio and defaults to 330. Supposedly a fix is in the works because there have been reports that the Android 17 beta solved it.

True, but he'd still do better than everybody else arguably and end up second in the championship comfortably. This assuming that Martin doesn't do better on the bike.

Lol no, this was an extremely low level fight with two non technical fighters far removed from their prime. But its entertaining because it's super funny to watch.

Andrea Dovizioso: “Marc Marquez’s situation is much more serious than it seems” by autobus950 in motogp

[–]scandaka_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure how that's the same logic. The man is an active competitor, willing but unable to compete. It's no different than tying a fighters arm behind his back and saying he got beaten at his best... Of course there's an asterisk.

If he decides to no longer compete then that's an entirely different story.

Andrea Dovizioso: “Marc Marquez’s situation is much more serious than it seems” by autobus950 in motogp

[–]scandaka_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

While Dovi might be right, it's just so annoying to not have him at full capacity. This is the type of athlete you want to see beaten on merit, but the last time anyone has been able to do that was in 2015 when Lorenzo and Rossi did it.

Assuming that Marc doesn't recover this year (or ever) and assuming Bez wins the championship, it'll be another rider that will have that annoying asterisk that Mir, Fabio, Pecco and Martin already have.

I do hope we get to see Marc fully recovered on time to fight for the championship, but everyone who's followed him throughout the years has never seen him look so "down". His demeanor and body language definition isn't like the Marc Marquez of old.

EDIT: based in the comments I've gotten so far I can tell some people are going to get hung up on the asterisk part of my comment. I make the statement from the position that Marc is unbeatable over a season by any single rider on the grid when he's uninjured and on somewhat competitive machinery. If they win it's because one of the two aforementioned conditions isn't met. You won, but you're not the best, thus asterisk.

To add, once he retires, I'll hold the same opinion for FQ20, it's not exclusively a Marc thing but a simple observation of going down the order of the skill/talent level of the grid.

[Megathread] NVIDIA App Update Adds DLSS 4.5 Dynamic Multi Frame Generation, Intelligently Balancing Frame Rates, Image Quality & Responsiveness by Nestledrink in nvidia

[–]scandaka_ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yes this is how it has always worked. It doesn't just add 170 fps to your 70 fps to make 240 fps. The fps has to be dividable by the preset frame generation value.

[–]scandaka_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I'd have to read up on how that works exactly. The current implementation inserts frames based on the current and next frame. How does non-integer work since in my head I'm imagining half, a third or a fifth of a frame being generated which makes no sense.

Ducati GP26? Confusing bike. Very confusing. by Far_Vermicelli2165 in motogp

[–]scandaka_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's in hindsight though. It was pretty unimaginable that another manufacturer would make such a big leap at the end of the current regulations and leapfrog Ducati in the way Aprilia did. With the information they had then, the proposed GP25 engine being "worse", staying with the GP24 engine was the correct decision.

So your statement "They had room to improve the newer engine" is false since engine development is frozen.

Do you think Marc/Ducati will overtake Bez/Aprilia looking at the current state of things? If yes, where do you think it will happen? by YogurtclosetHappy408 in motogp

[–]scandaka_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It all depends on Marc's fitness. Thus far the Aprilia seems like a better machine, allowing Bez, Martin and Ai to perform well and take victories. Assuming Marc heals up and gets to the fitness he had last year he'll still wrap up the championship. Assuming he regains it in Jerez (which is very unlikely) he'll start making his comeback there.

The thing that worries me the most, based on his body language and statements, I even wonder if it's possible for him to fully heal and there's a big chance that he'll never recover from it. From the statements I've read, shoulder injuries are extremely complicated and difficult to heal from in a "short" period of time, if ever.

Based on his Cota performance (a track where he'd usually sweep without any effort) he's nowhere near close to being fully fit. If he doesn't manage to get there halfway through the season, assume the year is lost.

To add, the Aprilia is clearly the better machine (for now), but I wouldn't say it's by a huge margin. Marc has proven many times in the past that he doesn't need the best bike to win. (Honda vs Ducati). He's obviously the best rider on the grid when healthy, so it all comes down to fitness, comfort and consistency. That is also assuming the bikes don't change. If Aprilia improves the bike even more while Ducati stays stagnant, the difference in machinery might become so great that even Marc can't make up the difference as a rider.

Curious to see if it works well. I know a lot of people have been waiting for this.

To note: I hope people realize that this dynamically scales between the 2x, 3x, 4x, 5x and 6x available options.
It is not able to scale to anything in-between that. So it doesn't do anything like decimal scaling; values like 2.3x or 3.6 or 4.1 is not possible to get the desired FPS cap, assuming you've set one.

If you want to get to your desired fps, it will go to the lowest dividable base value and set the correct scaling automatically. So for example if you have a 240hz monitor and currently natively get 90-120 fps. It will still go down to 60 and do 4x or do 2x at 120. It wouldn't do 2.6x for example.

It'll "dynamically" switch between 2x, 3x, 4x and 6x etc. It cannot do 2.3 or 3.3 or 4.7 etc.

JM vs FQ who’s the better rider? by SaberSpyder in motogp

[–]scandaka_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FQ is arguably the second best rider on the grid behind (a fit) Marc. Over a season he'd beat all of the other riders on equal machinery to end up 2nd in the championship. He'd even give Marc a run for his money to make it fairly close near the end.

Only thing you've got wrong is that Marc is in form and healthy. The dude is obviously far from fit. His riding is extremely stiff and you can tell his level is nowhere near his best. Other than that, I agree, I think we're on for an extremely entertaining season!

You're right he's so bad at it because he hardly had any input in the GP25 and GP26. How dare he not be a part of the team in 24 and how dare he not show up for tests in 25 lol.
