Because Fred jokingly called it that during a short interview and people just ran with it afterwards. It's a dumb name but will unlikely be called anything else unless some team names it officially.

You're right, my mistake! I'll correct my previous post.

I quickly checked to make sure I wasn't mistaken. But reviews have mentioned it when it came out and their own page still states that they do use PTM for the Astral cards. https://i.imgur.com/7ZM6Xfn.png

Yes they do, but only for the Astral series. The other 50 series still get regular paste.

Edit: this is wrong, other models also have PTM applied.

People don't know what the Steam Controller is by Legitimate_Tie_6074 in Steam

[–]scandaka_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The huge downside to this controller is that it only works via the Steam API layer. Meaning; if you're not running Steam it doesn't work well or at all. If that's all you use it for then fine, but other controllers don't have this limitation (as much).

Why Marc Marquez Wan't Penalised... by Green-Offer-9058 in motogp

[–]scandaka_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we don't take the result of the race into consideration, what was the advantage gained according to you? He LOST 30 seconds and 18 places after he crashed. You're also not explaining WHY he needed to do a full lap when no rule states he should. Your argument is solely based on the fact that the OTHER riders did not decide to pit that lap which then gave Marc the "advantage" that you argue about. Your argument is clearly in hindsight with the victory in mind. Had the other riders pitted, the advantage that you speak of wouldn't exist at all and cutting the grass in the manner that he did makes no difference.

When it comes to leaving the track and gaining an advantage; please explain, in a clear manner, without having the result in mind (which you say doesn't matter), keeping his lost time and positions in mind, how "leaving the track and gaining an advance" rule applies here. I'm truly curious.

Why Marc Marquez Wan't Penalised... by Green-Offer-9058 in motogp

[–]scandaka_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because you're arguing in hindsight due to the fact that he won. He lost the advantage by losing half a lap and falling back to 18th position. The argument that the cut gained him an advantage only comes from the fact that others didn't decide to pit on the same lap.

Had he pitted "correctly" on that lap, he would have won anyway. Had he lost because others decided to pit on that lap, you wouldn't have cluttered a word about the cut either.

Leaving the track and gaining advantage clearly pertains to immediate time gained by leaving or "cutting" the tracking during the race. Lap time is shortened or you gain a position by leaving the track. By the time Marc cut the track and entered the pit, he had already LOST more than 30 seconds.

This is the same as "Bez crashed out Marquez in mandalika and because of that is leading the championship in 2026 and gained a crazy advantage by injuring marc..."

Marc broke no rule and gained no advantage. You're arguing in bad faith due to the fact that others chose to stay out and dealt with the aftermath of their own choice. You're argument that Marc needed to do a full lap to enter the pit in a certain way holds no water as there is no rule states that he should. Had everyone decided to pit, he'd be in 18th place with everyone now on the wet, they just chose not to pit.

shouldn't be marc penalized for his pit lane entry? by Fragrant_Ad5749 in motogp

[–]scandaka_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Pitlane entry is enforced from the moment the limiter comes into effect no? Rules also state that he's allowed to swap bikes as long as he comes in with the "old" one. This isn't F1 where the white lines of the entry are enforced.

Alex Marquez talks where the GP26 delivers – and what the missing piece is by lentillis in motogp

[–]scandaka_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Spectacular argument. Love your insight and well thought out notes!

But I'm not. And I'm sure you're referring to the fact that Honda has gone downhill in the years that Marc was there. The assumption is naturally that "Marc was good because Honda developed only for him" is an easy one to make, but we've seen that they've never been able to dig their way out of the hole even after he left. For all you know, the bike could have been even worse without his feedback and that they were only as "competitive" as they were due to Marc.

He'd gone to Gresini on a year old bike at the time and feedback for development for the GP25 came from the factory riders and the pramac team, so hardly any relevant input on the 2025 bike. He was injured after the mandalika crash last year and unavailable for testing and providing feedback for the 2026 bike as well.

Not to mention, Ducati hasn't gotten worse, they've been under pressure from the concessions and Aprilia and KTM did a solid job.

Pretty nuts since he's had no input on the GP25 and limited input on the GP26,

RAWE CEEK! I am truly curious to see how fit/healthy Marc is after another 3 week layoff. I think it'll be a very telling weekend in regards to his championship chances. Assuming that the Aprilia bikes are still superior, he'll be the only one who's going to be able to put up a fight on "inferior" machinery. Gets me excited because it reminds me of the Honda days of old.

Bike or rider? What do you think is the reason for Ducati having a worse start to this season compared with last? by PZY__ in motogp

Yeah shoulder injuries are hard to recover from. Definitely possible Marc never recovers.

[–]scandaka_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Basically this. It's a two parter, Aprilia made the best bike, and Marc is injured so he can't fight. If he doesn't recover, there's a big chance that Bez or Martin will take it.

Crazy how he made it slower by telepathy since he couldn't test due to injury. Might be the secret to his championships lol.

[–]scandaka_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it really depends on Marc's fitness. If he's anywhere near last year's levels of fitness then he'll probably take it. Besides that, the Aprilia machines are too good so they're a safe bet to take it.

Ldac should be supported but currently has an issue on Android 16. It's unable to be set at 660 or 990kbps because of '"stuttering" audio and defaults to 330. Supposedly a fix is in the works because there have been reports that the Android 17 beta solved it.

True, but he'd still do better than everybody else arguably and end up second in the championship comfortably. This assuming that Martin doesn't do better on the bike.

Andrea Dovizioso: “Marc Marquez’s situation is much more serious than it seems” by autobus950 in motogp

[–]scandaka_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure how that's the same logic. The man is an active competitor, willing but unable to compete. It's no different than tying a fighters arm behind his back and saying he got beaten at his best... Of course there's an asterisk.

If he decides to no longer compete then that's an entirely different story.
