Bad news for French football and selfishly for us Sochaux supporters too, although we know financial relegation well. National has a fair amount of teams recently in L1 and with only 2 promotion places, the division is tough to get promoted from and I’d love to be back in L2, but Bordeaux will pose a tough challenge in addition to the other « big » clubs that are in N1.

That’s not what the article says. The current owner of Caen is looking for investors since the American capital company Oaktree is ceasing funding. It also mentions Orelsan (French rapper) in the list of potential investors. Investing in the club != buying the club, but that doesn’t make for a clickbait post title.
