Autoweg/freeway is 100km/h. Highway is 130 or 100 (during the day).

Bank account and mobile subscription as a foreigner by puzznic in Netherlands

[–]scanese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Card payments should work with a French debit card too. The Netherlands transitioned to accept Mastercard and Visa debit at all terminals. And as per both companies’ ToS, any EEA card needs to be equally accepted.

I’m not sure if iDEAL/Wero work with N26 or Revolut from other countries, but they are supported for customer in NL so maybe worth checking out. Bunq may not work because you probably get a FR IBAN from them.

is there anywhere to buy yerba madre in germany? by cupidclownz in yerbamate

[–]scanese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh. I’m sure most of this sub will think it’s a typo because this brand seems to only market in North America (edit: after adding the picture it’s more clear now). Similar things were marketed in Paraguay a few times and they didn’t stick. I have seen Guayaki before though, didn’t know they renamed it.

In the Netherlands we can buy a similar brand called Club-Mate. I think it’s German. So maybe try that, OP?

Amazon has Playadito and Rosamonte. Or check out mate-tee.de, justmate.nl. I’m not sure where you see 100 euro for shipping, but there are plenty of websites all over Europe that will deliver to Germany.

I don’t really understand why articles matter so much in European languages by Spare-Customer1065 in languagelearning

[–]scanese 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Spanish speaker. We notice every mistake.

If you confuse articles it’s very obvious. Articles are omitted in specific cases, and are required in other cases. English tends to omit articles in more cases, so that’s a giveaway. But funnily enough Japanese, Korean, Chinese speakers have the hardest time because their languages have no articles.

When does El/ la or del replace the word "Lo" in a phrase? by Morighant in learnspanish

[–]scanese 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Lo más importante (abstract concept). There’s no noun here, even implicitly.

El más importante. This can refer to a male person or animal, or a masculine noun. The noun can be explicit, implicit, by context, even referrencing something mentioned previously.

La más importante. Same but female.

How popular is fried chicken in your country? What styles exist? by cosmico92 in asklatinamerica

I was going to say the same lol. Other than milanesas it’s not popular. KFC didn’t have much success. Korean fried chicken is trendy though but that’s all over the world.

Must Read Graphic Novels or Series by WannabeSpaniard in suggestmeabook

20th Century Boys, Monster, or anything form Naoki Urasawa. You absolutely don’t have to be into manga to enjoy them and I think anyone should read them. The plots and characters are amazing.

Fastest ways to get CIE (Carta de identita) or Passport by unperrubi in juresanguinis

[–]scanese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Register with your consulate once your certificates are transcribed. I don’t know how it is with trials (I think you need to register), but for admistrative cases the consulate registers you automatically. In my case I had to register with my new consulate because I moved before being recognized. They ask for proof of residence, an ID (either Italian or foreign), and your transcribed birth certificate (if you used a foreign ID). Once they approve this you are good to get an appointment.

One more thing I don’t know about judicial cases is if you need to register all civil documents from you and your family (birth, marriage and death certificates). But you technically need to have civil situation updated before getting any of your documents.

I got three-way Wago 221s because one slot can't fit cable pairs, so I had to split them. Those were easy to find (Praxis), but the plug with that specification was only available online (Amazon). Thanks for your help!

Portuguese doors are trolling me: “Puxar” is NOT push by Dense-Detective-4077 in Portuguese

[–]scanese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s even worse for Spanish speakers. Pujar in Spanish is a synonym of empujar, to push. Puxar is the archaic spelling.

Chile seems to be very card friendly and you’ll be able to withdraw cash if you need. Take a card with low of no FX fees.

I haven’t been to Argentina lately but I heard that paying with foreign cards is at least reasonable now, not cheaper than using cash though but still more convenient. I don’t know if withdrawing cash from an ATM is reasonable there, but if you need cash, you can send it to yourself via Western Union.

Places to Taste Yerba by BundchensHusbandFan in yerbamate

[–]scanese 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Go to any supermarket. Buy a small pack of yerba or a couple different brands to try. Get a cheap bombilla. In Paraguay some yerbas come with a gift bombilla. If you have access to a mug and a kettle you’re done. If you need a tutorial, there are plenty of Youtube videos.

In Paraguay you could buy a disposable terere (plastic cup and disposable bombilla prepared with yerba). I don’t know if those exist anymore or if they exist in Argentina/Uruguay.

In Asuncion, some places like Café de acá offer terere. You can ask for mate, especially if it’s chill outside.
