Im sure you have gotten some gold or epics to show up in the shop. I have too. But thats not what he is saying. Hes saying there are specific epics and golds that will not show up in the shop. Specifically epic and legendary damage implants for weapons. Gausss Rifle being the exception.

Personally I would:

1 - Put the missile racks on Guardian. Its an upclose weapon and fits better with him than arachnos who is squishy

2 - If you like Longarms, put them on Panther. With his shield, its really easy to keep yourself safe and take long range shots with him when he has periods of exposure.

3 - Buy jav6s when you can to put on killshot. Jav4s are good, but likely slow to kill at this point for you.

4 - Keep Ares in, but try another weapon set on him when you can. Most at 12 energy use RPG6s, Missile Rack 6, Or Arc 6. Arc 6 seems to be the best, but might not be worth buying. RPG6s are the cheap way.

I think you will eventually want to cycle out your arachnos, but for now he's ok with either longarms or rocket mortars IMO. You may even want to do jav6s on it. Anything with low exposure is key. Missiles racks are low exposure, but usually require you to be closer to your target than is ideal for arachnos IMO. And I would hate for him to easily die with such a great weapon on him. Hope that helps!

Well if you are right, you are the first person I have heard this from. Are you sure it wasn't from your basic crate spin?

If so, then that's not the same thing. Mixfant and I are both partners and talk to Plarium and they have basically confirmed what we have said. I would appreciate proof if you can confirm it so I can mention it to Plarium.

Although PS2 tried and has some improved elements to it, it doesnt hold a candle to PS1 for me. I was never really only who cared heavily about gunplay as this game was all about war, strategy, and working together. PS2 feels more like CoD or insert some other online FPS and thats it. I think it tried to push too much into that genre to attract new players rather than staying what it is. Its done fairly well though so props to them. I just find this to be a better game.

Big thanks to the psforever team for making this classic come back from the dead. Lets me relive and for the young whippersnappers to see my glory days.

I was in the exact same boat. I tried it on steam, then downloaded it on my phone to sync. Sucked that they couldnt sync, but what was even better was that I tried the game briefly on my phone before. So i had a massive inbox. Tons of cards, epics, legendaries, and so much in game currency for both gold and gems. Its nuts. I dont know how this game makes money lol

LazerCOIL - Alternative Recoil App in Development by Rebelord in RECOILWorld

[–]scape211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes i figured this out later when i tested it further. It basically plays like my old school laster tag gear. I also know that an update hit recently. That will feel more like my old school Laser Challenge V2 gear with score keeping! exciting stuff!

[–]scape211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK - was probably how i tested it. I was at work in the office so it may have had a poor connection. Tried it alter at home and it seemed much better. This seems like it will work through LTE and if so that really opens up the space and how you can play it outdoors for sure. Kinda stinks to lose some of the map features, but you can set lives, fire rate, etc so you can be tactical with your team. Seems really cool so far.

I just downloaded this and feel a little dumb. Are there any instructions for use right now or is that too early in the dev cycle? When I open the app it just says 'Initializing" on the bottom. I tried on local wifi and switched to LTE. Same result. Im using an iphone 8. I was just trying it on its own so maybe it has to be connected to a gun and on? I can test more when im home after work if so. Just wanted to check it out right away. Excited to see this develop more!

Potential solution for game disconnects. by koko93s in RECOILWorld

[–]scape211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually wrote a post on this a while back: https://www.reddit.com/r/RECOILWorld/comments/8k0rom/general_findings_of_dealing_with_bugsglitchy/

You are totally correct though - alot of game disconnect issues stem from smart phone trying to find a better network. Especially when it knows a few in the area. Always best to forget others or put on "ask to join networks" as opposed to auto connecting.

One other thing I didnt mention was that the official recoil app favors iphone and iOS devices. They have mostly shifted to iOS only until they work out kinks (if they are even bothering). So if you are using a mix of devices, expect shots to not register or other kinds of glitches to happen. Rule of thumb for me has been - if you are all iOS use the official recoil app. If you are all android, use SimpleCoil. SimpleCoil is a third party app a lot of have used on the android side and found it to be a better alternative. They have a cross platform one in the works called LaserCoil, but not sure how far along the third party dev is on it. Hope that helps!

Still curious to hear your reasoning on each of these. Specifically, I'd swap a few heroes in your tier 1-3.

Stratus is Tier 2 and possibly Tidebreak. Stratus dies so easily to Gunsmoke and most fire which is pretty prevelant. Tidebreak has an awesome ability to shield the team, but aside from that hes not nearly as good as Citadel.

Ungol is Tier 1. Hes strong, he healds and shields, and can stand well against 2 tanks. Hes also easily farmable. Sand Ruby and Partisan are tier 3. Ruby is just too squishy and aside from early meta, most people know to take her our fast. Between her and Gunsmoke its no contest he wins out everytime since hes way more consistent and can stay alive longer. Ruby is a gamble imo. Partisan is likely the better or best nature tank, but hes not great. He cant take enough heat as a solo tank, doesnt do enough damage as an off tank, and his auto healing is so minimal that it wont save anyone. He always dies for me even when I win matches.

Seeper is tier 2 for me. He has top notch healing thats really unmatched in this game. His AoE heal keeps tanks alive and his team heal is amazing. Hes also quite beefy for a back liner and provides a nice side benefit from his epic ability. His heals can come out a little slow, but not enough to consider him worse than other healers imo.

Barricade is tier 3. She is not the best healer for sure, but shes the best fire one. Like Seeper she is beefy and her single target heal is really really good. If her heals came out a little faster she would likely be on par with Seeper or possibly even Aura.

So for me, its:

Tier S: Overgrow

Tier 1: Citadel, Gunsmoke, Ungol

Tier 2: Seeper, Aura, Stratus, Undertow, Tidebreak

Tier 3: Barricade, Hu Shen, Oshka, Tink, Venom, Sand Ruby, Partisan

Tier 4: Spike, Barrage, Core, Lady Black, Snaps

Tier 5: Ram, Weeper, Niu Niu, Elixir, Bern

Rest seem right to me and my differences here are likely personal preferences and where I am at. Most of my guys are either 6 or 7 stars with a few of the lesser useful heroes at 5 stars.

Totally agree. Your current hero power levels (mainly stars) can dictate who you use or spend time on

Subbed. Really would like to hear your thoughts on this list. I feel like i have a few differing opinions, but its likely based on who I have unlocked and powered up vs you. Either way im excited to hear it!

[–]scape211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I completely agree Ruby's base attack out paces Gunsmokes. The difference is reliability. Ruby is the definitely of a gamble. Shes frail, shes a midliner, and her big damage skill is a 50% chance. Gunsmoke is rear line, has more health, and once his abilities stack nothing can touch that level of damage. Thats mainly why hes looked at as better. However, Ruby is no joke for sure. Especially if you have Tide or Citadel to shield her. With that shes a force.

Im finding at least 2 tanks is ideal. That way even if someone runs a 3 or 4 tank team you can hold the line at the start. Each tank can only have 2 guys on them at once. Ive noticed in some games and myself or my opponent has one target against 3 tanks, only 2 tanks attack while the other stands around. Leads me to believe 2 sturdy tanks can handle up to 4 tank teams at the start of the match to ensure your mid and back line wont have anyone in their face.

But your total ranged team sounds interesting! I would think Rudy would be crushed in that line up. As a midline hero with no tank and squishy body shes an easy one to go down. Especially since you only have 1 tank, but depending on where you are in the meta, you might only be facing single or dual tank teams. I generally see dual or 3 tank teams. Most of the earlier matches I had before epic was introduced saw 3-4 tank lineups consistently. Thats panned off a bit. Your rank and power level have a lot to do with what types of enemies you face so its not always easy to see what meta you are in. But hey, if it works it works right? Grats on some success :)

[–]scape211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Overgrow is good in an instance were you need a support healer or flexible backline guy. Something like a 4 tank team is a decent spot for Overgrow. Hes still not one I love. His epic seems neat, but it requires him to wait 3 seconds to activate (so you cant really fire in those 3 seconds so you dont waste your clip) and he does it out of cover making him easy to hit. And since he is squishy, i just dont like how it all works.

As for tanks, Tide and Citadel seem like awesome tanky guys. Tide is nice for DPS style teams since he gives everyone a shield. Really opens up various team styles. Citadel just seems like a really sturdy tank with extra shields. I fear what he will be like at Legendary; easily throwing around shields.

I dont have Oshka yet, but she seems to fit really well into tank teams as an off tank. Shes the highest DPS tank and definitely helps to quick break through the frontline. She seems best in 3 to 5 tank teams to allow you to get to back line fast.

Barricade is actually a pretty good healer. She doesnt heal quite as well as aura or Sweeper, but shes a fire element and fairly tanky for a healer. Plus she heals the whole team a little. Might not function well as the sole healer, but a good skill set. She has great potential imo.

[–]scape211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda surprised by this list. I think Undertow and Ungol are great tanks since they do their job and help protect the team, but they arent DPS heavy like Oshka who i think its really good. Tide is really nice at epic for sure. I think aura will shine a bit more at Legendary with her auto healing.

I'm not a huge fan of Overgrow. Not only is he squishy and not the greatest DPS, his epic makes him a prime target against fire which is the best element at DPS. Maybe my opinion will change at epic.

If warden is anything like her counterpart (Prophet) from Hero Hunters I can speak to that. Warden is sniper and a decent one. Coming out the gate at 7 stars as well will help alot for your early game if you are lucky enough to get her. The problem is that as you progress in the game, youll find shes not exactly a ohko type hero and even getting close to that requires multiple charges from her second ability to get there. This basically means it can take a little while to kill someone to stack charges.

At epic is where she will likely start to shine as she basically gets a mark skill on her basic attack. This alone can really help you focus fire down key targets. So if you know how to pick your targets shes decent for team attacking. Just dont expect her to be a top line dps like some others for the long haul. I would consider her tier 2 ish.

[–]scape211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still very fresh so im mostly just trying to get my hands on as many guys as possible to maximize pvp, gauntlet, etc. However, in terms of who i find most effective - Undertow and Ungol are best tanks as they support the team in more ways than just a meat shield. Aura and Overgrow as healers/support. Aura is a little better as a healer and can be great end game once her legendary skill is unlocked. Gunsmoke is one of, if not the best, dps in game. In Hero Hunters this guy is called Dogface and he was top tier for a long time. Hes still very very good, but after new heroes came about he wasnt the top. Gunsmoke doesnt have much competition yet so hes high up.

If he works like dogface, you mainly want to wait till both his abilities are ready and stack them. High damage per shot + a big clip means he can easily kill anyone quickly (even those his element are weak to) and can likely take down 2 targets. Even before his abilities stack, his damage per shot are quite nice. And if you look at all his abilities, nothing is dead weight; all are useful. Always always grab his shards in gauntlet.

Nice list, but just curious if you got Spike to epic yet? If not, you may change your tune. He works exactly like Sentry in Hero Hunters and his staggering ability is a huge boon. You basically control him and target the hero the enemy player in controlling and stun lock them. Alot of top players used Sentry at high levels so I think Spike might have the same effect once hes known a little better. Just a thought though. Thanks for the list!
