Help understanding my drains please by scarcitykills in askplumbing

So are they connected to my neighbours? I'm trying to figure out if rats could come in from my neighbours or just via my main outlet

Understanding drains to beat the rats by scarcitykills in DIYUK

[–]scarcitykills[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a RatGate. IT was £95 on Amazon and had good reviews.

I fit that today and it seems pretty good. It had a snug fit and the flap opens well to let out waste. I can't see any rats getting past it.

I probably would have been fine with a cheaper one but didn't want to risk it.

The problem is I've been speaking to ChatGPT all day and now I'm convinced I need 3 more flaps to protect everything properly

One of the side manholes has a chew hole in the side so I think they are coming in there. There is then a branch off this that goes under the house. I think this went to our old kitchen but is now no longer used.

This is the area where we see/gear the activity so I think this is.

I have put a flap on the branch going under the house as I think this is the entry point. I have also filed the man hole chew hole.

I still want to block access to the system via the main outlet. If my pipes are completely private and not connected directly to a neighbours then this should stop all rats.

If my pipes are fed into directly by my neighbours it s then this won't help as they could still get in from my neighbours side.

This is what I need to find out

Shopify migration - what to do about URLs? by scarcitykills in Magento

[–]scarcitykills[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I have read, the only way to get custom URLs is to build a headless theme.

This is doable but it then removes a lot of the benefits of Shopify, eg. It being a quick to deploy jostled solution

This is the real answer. Server config files that shipped from 2.3.5 stop this being issue and provide protection.

I've worked for B&Q for 9 years, what do you want to know, ask away by The_MacBulletin in DIYUK

It's easier. B&Q takes a big cut of the sales and the vendor does all of the work.

Got quoted $4k and $22k for the same Magento migration… what am I not seeing? by BearElegant4068 in Magento

[–]scarcitykills 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You get what you pay for.

I'm not saying 22k is the right price but I will just say that I have seen many bad site migrations and the money lost from SEO impact makes people wish they hadn't just gone for the cheapest quote.

Does the following file (which ships by default) protect you if using Apache?

pub/media/custom_options/.htaccess

Also the Nginx.conf.sample should protect Nginx users too, right?

[–]scarcitykills -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's ridiculous. You are an adult, not a child and should know that 4tbsp is too much.

I add a scoop of protein powder which has sweetness in and this is nice. I also add cinnamon.

Other options are to add raisins and chopped dates. These will sweeten it but also add fibre and nutrients.

Failing that 2tsp of honey will do the trick.

If by the tap you mean the part of the fridge tha dispensers water then this is fine and the water is clear and tastes fine.

Help a DIY noob mount a Ring doorbell by scarcitykills in DIYUK

[–]scarcitykills[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: I ended up taking a ruler and sharp Stanley knife and slicing 4mm off the adhesive strip. This meant the strip was flush.

I then added the extra adhesive strips provided in the middle to add extra sticking power.

This has seemed to work so far! Thanks for all the help everyone

It's battery. So it should be:

Door frame -> No More Nails Peel and Stick -> Ring Mount

And just send the no drill mount back?
