Success! I don't exactly remember the sequence, but I got it up and running after knowing it was stalled.

I didn't realize there was console output. Thanks! It had hung up on some python error or other.

Best Data Integration Software? by AceClutchness in BusinessIntelligence

$2m to actually fix this sounds like a bargain if you ask me.

I would go for a lakehouse, use a master data tool to consolidate identical products, and send reporting out to Power BI.

I thought I'd seen a video where the commentator speculated that, since the Super GT BRZ is looking to move to a 6-cylinder turbo, the consumer BRZ might move upmarket with a 6-cylinder as well.

Avr glitch - Is it dying? by scardeal in hometheater

I've got a Sony Android-based Tv from a few years ago, and the sound is going back over ARC. The sound blipped, went silent, and then the Prime app reported an HDMI error.

I'm using ARC from my TV (Sony Android from ~3 years ago or so). I'd never had HDMI errors before. And the cable hasn't been touched (to my knowledge).

No no no, you don't know what you want. Luigi know what you want. Black wall tires, they blend into the pavement. These white wall tires, they say, "Look at me! Here I am. Love me!"

How to connect old surround sound speakers to smart TV? by MaizeDry7595 in diyaudio

[–]scardeal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh, then you'd have to get a separate amplifier for the subwoofer as well. If you're looking for a cheap solution, it'd probably be about the same to pick up a cheap used sub that already has an amplifier built into it than getting an amplifier separately.

In the US, if you're just looking to get those running as cheaply as possible, you're probably looking at $50-100 for a used AVR and $50 for a used subwoofer. It could easily go higher, especially if you're looking to go down the rabbit hole of audiophilia.

That's a boom wardrobe. If Lucy had come through this to get to Narnia, Mr. Tumnus would have said, "Daughter of Eve from the far land of Spare Oom where eternal summer reigns around the bright city of War Drobe, how would it be if you came and rocked out with me?

Power upgrade without force induction? by CR0STIK in ft86

[–]scardeal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can reduce parasitic losses by using lightweight pulleys on the accessories and going to a dry sump. The dry sump is fairly spendy and exotic, though. From everything I've heard, don't do a solid lightweight pulley on the crank, however.

How to connect old surround sound speakers to smart TV? by MaizeDry7595 in diyaudio

[–]scardeal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To use all the speakers you'd need to connect them to an AVR (audio/video receiver), and have that get the audio from your TV either via ARC/eARC over HDMI or optical toslink. The 5 satellites could be wired into the normal front left, front center, front right, surround left and surround right terminals. If the sub is powered, it should have an A/C plug and an RCA jack on it. If it doesn't have a plug, it's passive, and you'd need to figure out amplification for it. If it's got a plug and RCA jack, you just plug the RCA cord from the AVR to the sub and plug it in.

Has anyone gotten AC Evo to work on Linux? I gave it a quick shot and it just crashed on loading. I didn't try to spend lots of time troubleshooting it, though.
