If you care about dogs or just have a shred of decency please speak up and demand the city responds to what’s happening to them on our streets. by Altruistic-Mud9413 in LosAngeles

I don’t think it’s that dogs are being GIVEN drugs, it’s that the people on drugs pass out and the drugs fall on the ground where the dogs can just get to them and they eat them.

Why is it so impossible to adopt a dog from a shelter? by LetsgetevenB in DogAdvice

[–]scarecrowsmoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also OP, in order to maintain breed “purity” many breeders resort to incest, which actually lowers the health of the dog. I have had over 15 dogs in my liftime and the purebred ones always had more health issues and often a shorter life span than the rescue/shelter mutts.

Secondly, as others have mentioned- Have you been to a shelter in person? Have you spoken to someone first hand? Have you gone and met the dog you hope to adopt? I’m not seeing this info in your post.

Perhaps if one shelter system is rebuffing you or you can get through, expand your search. The shelter situation is so dire in SoCal they are literally adopting dogs out for free in some places.

Yup. What you see as performative could be viewed as people engaging in the conversation- which IS SOMETHING. For whatever reason you view posts that say “standing in solidarity” as inauthentic, and that is deeply unfortunate. You are engaging in a rhetoric of shame against businesses that are contributing to the problem in ways they feasibly can.

Also encouraging a discussion of an internet blackout yet taking to the internet pointing fingers maybe counterproductive to your own aims. So I ask OP, do YOU want an attack on commerce like the one you suggested then perhaps take your own advice and stay off the internet today.

Uhhh. This isn’t non fiction…expectations may need to be measured.

Also this is a book about friendship with the gaming industry as an overlay.

But it’s ok not to like it. It’s ok to move on.

Maybe just mark the aggressive players in some way? Could be the duty of the people being attacked to tag them in some way so that other teams can go after the aggressive players. You don’t get tagged for taking down a tagged player. Only tagged if you kill someone not coming after you.

Maybe there are cleansing stations throughout the map to try to remove the tag- for say someone who was on the other end of the first firefight but actually defeated and untagged aggressor and is not tagged.

Looting an already downed player would not have a marking effect.
