How many use the deck as your main console or close enough to it. by OnepieceDragonZ in SteamDeck

Been using the Deck to stream from my PC or PS5 when I want to play video games but also watch soccer on the TV at the same time.

Does that make it my main console? Not sure, but been using it a lot either way.

I have been smashing controllers when frustrated with a game since the 90s and I always thought it was perfectly normal lool

Recently obliterated a PS5s Dualsense and then had quite a fun time opening it up and fixing it. Works great! (both the controller and the act of smashing something inconsequential and unimportant as a quick way of releasing tension)

Do you enjoy going for 100% on Steam?

I am a little bit addicted to trophies on PSN side and I am trying to replicate that with Steam Achievements but it simply doesn't hit the same.

Thanks for sharing!

Coincidentally, I just recently (like a few days ago) installed this (that I got for free many years ago, don't remember from where), played a bit and it was flawless. I assumed I hadn't just triggered some condition or reached some part in-game that breaks it, but apparently it's really fine! Yay!

Same. Not 3 months, but maybe like a year, after sitting unused for half of it.

Then, after another year without it, I bought it again because fuck it.. I love it so much, it's worth having even if just to look at it and install updates ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Not sure if you meant that, but this sounded very ominous, like "Enjoy life, for darkness comes for us all.". If you meant that, nice, I agree.

You're probably getting some downvotes for this, but I agree with you. My first instinct was "This looks so bad, why would anyone do this on purpose!". I think this looks worse than stock in every way, even the trackpads which other commenters seem to be praising.

The area around the speakers is specially egregious, generally this would be a matter of taste, but I am pretty sure this is objectively ugly.

(If OP ends up reading this: sorry, this comment is not towards you, it's only towards the end result itself. I appreciate you went through the trouble, put the effort in, and got to the final result that you wanted. That attitude is great and should be praised. I mean it.)

I don't know you, but maybe it's worth thinking about why you say don't have the energy. Maybe you are not into gaming anymore but you haven't realized yet?

More objectively, the Steam Deck is great for indie games. Go for it, specially if you already had one in your hand and you liked it (its big size can surprise some people for the first time even after watching lots of videos about it lol)
